It is possible if the songs you are syncing into your iPod Touch are in really high quality.
I'd suggest to use iTunes and in it's preferences, you can configure different quality and file type (I'd prefer MP3 Encoder with High Quality 160 kbps). Then just right click your songs in iTunes and click Create MP3 version and wait for iTunes to complete converting and then sync only those songs into your iPod Touch.

Delete songs from i pod touch 2nd generation

You must connect to the computer with iTunes. There you can select the music you want t delete.
For that wait till the iPod is backed up by iTunes, then on the left side click on the line with the name of your iPod. Then on top click on Music and then you see what music you can synchronise.
If you already did remove the original backups from the music on the iPad, there is a chance iTunes all remove all these numbers.

Apple has lots of info about every part you want to know about your iPod and iTunes.

I have an ipod touch 8gb. Supposed to hold about 2000 songs. Have 1023 songs to load from intunes, but get a message saying I need another 1.72 gb of memory. Do you know what that means?

the 8GB is the total space that is on the iPod. a good portion of this is used by the operating system itself. Another consideration is that most song files average 4MB in size, and this is how they calculate it could hold 2000 songs. There are several variables as to how much media you can fit onto a device, but the bag can only hold so much, you need to take something out to fit more stuff in. See if you have any movies or videos synced, this may be part of the problem. Sounds like you just need to do some cleanup of stuff on your iPod.

Is there any way to get music off of a first generation Ipod w/ the click wheel. I had the Ipod linked to my wife's Itunes, now we are getting divorced. I got a new Ipod touch and want to retrieve

Rob Pegoraro had a write-up on how to do this in the Washington Post a number of years ago: (click here)

Beware, if you never upgraded your songs to be DRM free and you don't know the username and password for the iTunes account, then these songs that you're recovering will be unplayable.

You are a lucky man! And I make you even luckier by providing a free solution for you. Follow the simple steps and you'll be able to use that free iPod touch of your in just minutes:
  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer (PC or Mac)
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized.
  5. Open iTunes and restore your device.

Warning: Restoring will delete all data on your device but this is the only way for you to recover it.

If you don't get it at first, try holding the buttons for lesser time or see the other procedures and screenshots on my tip (link below):

I just got a iPod touch 8GB and I would like to print the manuel but don't know which one. I would also like to know how to get my CD's from Itunes to iPod

You can download manuals from the apple website at http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipod

Once you have put you your CDs on itunes plug in your ipod and it will appear under devices. When you click on your ipod you can then synch your itunes with your ipod (i.e. put music on)

I have only 700 songs on my 8gb ipod touch and it says its taking up 7gb

If you want more space you'll have to reduce the quality of your audio using another program. The 7gbs usage could be right because a lot of my 320kbps mp3's are around 10-13mb.

I pod touch

ipods are only designed for itunes so windows shouldn't recognise media player, any way, the new software for ipod touches is greater, meaning your computer/windows media player wont recognise it, only itunes will.
