After replacing color wheel on samsung hln5065w dlp tv I have a vertical shadow on the right side, about 2" wide. I am hoping there is an adjustment on the lens and it's not the light tunnel. I noticed when rotating the parts to gain access to the color wheel cover, the ridged ring around the lens turned slightly as it passed through the foam. I turned it back (a bit more than it turned on the way out) before reinstalling. Is that a focus adjustment or alignment? thanks.

SOURCE: samsung hlp4663wx/xaa (after replacing the color wheel)shadowing

If the color wheel you replaced was the BP96-00674A, it would have come with the proper cca adjustments for that particular wheel. You must enter the service menu and reset the cca's for proper color.

SOURCE: DLP TV starts to loose picture after 1 - 1/2 hours of use

This tv has a 3 board video path. Analog main pcb --->Digital main pcb --->DMD pcb. see which inputs have the problem to narrow it down. if only some inputs, suspect analog board. if everything flickers(all inputs and menu), suspect the dmd or engine. you can see the lamp shine out the back. if the lamp is flickering, suspect lamp or ballast.

SOURCE: I have a 56" DLP Samsung (HLR5668W) Right side goes solid black

The color wheels will never fix an issue like that. The only things that will cause that issue is a bad DMD board which is part of the light engine or the digital board which is not. Freak Squad need to replace the digital board.

SOURCE: My dlp tv has a shadow about 6'' wide and full ht of tv

Hello: The problem is that a small mirror on the light tunnel has fell off causing a shadow in the picture,. In the past the only way to repair this problem was to replace the entire Optics Engine. But Samsung decided it was replacing entirely to many light engines so they decided to allow and train technicians on how to do it. It involves removing the color wheel and behind it is the light tunnel where light from the lamp shines on to a maybe 1 1/4 inch small block with three mirrors on all sides, your problem is that one of these mirrors has come loose from its side, causing a shadow with the pic still in the background. So if you call a technician to come, if he has'nt had the training from samsung on how to do the procedure then he will want to replace the entire optics engine which is the expensive way of doing it.
So when calling as if they know how to replace light tunnel. There are some adjustments that also needs to be done once it's replaced. To verify what i am saying go to this site to find out more. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=758625

I just replaced the color wheel on my samsung hln5065w. Picture is great but there is a shadow on the right side of screen from top to bottom. The shadow on the top of the screen is wider across the screen...

Its a Good Possibilty that its the New Color Wheel causing this,if the colors are not complete on the color wheel then that will be why you are seeing shadow on right hand side of screen.
I know I ordered color wheel for mine and had to send it back,it did the same thing.
I compared it to the old color wheel and the new one did not have Solid colors on it.

Can you see picture behind the shadow? or is it shadow and no picture?

Shadow top to bottom of screen on left side about 2" wide...

This can be the sync wheel assy, failure in the drive circuit for the display chip, or an illumination fault. You will have to give the set out for service.
