Upgrade the firmware of your media player. Firmware upgrade will reload the new program for your player and it should work correctly after that.

Unfortunately, all files will be deleted from the player.

Thank you and good luck!

Welcome to Fixya!

Try pressing and holding the power button for 15 secs. If this does not work, look on the bottom of the unit where the USB plugs in to, there should be a small pinhole for a reset button. Press this and after it shuts off, try pressing and holding it for 15 secs.

Thank you!

Try the solution above and then let me know what happens.

This could be a problem of the hard drive connection to the motherboard. If you want to eliminate that possibility, remove the hard drive from the archos. Once removed, connect it to your pc so you can recover the files. This will void the warranty though. If if is still under warranty, I suggest calling Archos .

How do you connect a ps3 to a computer

Set up your PS3
Step 1: Make sure your PS3 is connected to the same network (via Ethernet or wireless) as your computer. You can check your connection by going to Settings > Network Settings.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection on your PS3 and set it to "Enabled."

Set up your computer (PC)
Step 1: Download and install the latest version on Windows Media Player.
Step 2: Go to Library > Add to Library and add folders you want your PS3 to access. All personal folders (Photos, Videos, and Music) are selected by default, but if you have media in other folders, add them.
Step 3:. Go to Library > Media Sharing, and check "Share Media." Press "OK," then wait a few moments for your PS3 to show up as one of the devices. Then select it, click "Allow," then "OK."

OR

Set up your computer (Mac)
Step 1: Download and install PS3 Media Server (free). This will allow your PS3 to "see" your Mac.
Step 2: Connect to the same network as your PS3.
Step 3: Go to Navigation/Share Settings and uncheck everything in the Thumbnails section (at the top). Then, at the bottom, add folders you want your PS3 to access. You can choose to add your entire hard drive, but it's helpful to add shortcuts to folders like Music, Videos, and Pictures.
Step 4: Go to Transcoding Settings, and change the Maximum bandwidth to 14 or 15. If you have a very strong network connection, leave it at 0. If you don't have a 5.1 surround sound theater, go to the "Number of audio channels" settings and change it to "Stereo."
Step 5: At the top, hit "Save" and "Restart HTTP Connection."

Stream your media
Step 1: Go back to your PS3, and your computer's name will be listed under the Photos, Videos, or Music tabs. You need to be in the Music section on your PS3 to play music, in the Photos section to see photos, and in the Videos section to play videos. You cannot play copyrighted material.
Here are a few extra tips:
  • When viewing a photo, hit the b_triangle.gif button to view extra options, like starting a slideshow of images in the selected folder.
  • When listening to music, you can keep it playing in the background by hitting the PlayStation (home) button.
  • You can copy music, photos, and videos onto your PS3 hard drive. When viewing a file, hit the b_triangle.gif button and select "Copy."

I can`t see photo files like jpeg etc, from my flash memry (8GB) - empty folder. But, avi files are running properly. TV is Sony KDL-46HX800. Is it some upgrade or something, or what?

Hi,

The TV will only detect USB Devices if it is formatted in FAT32 format.
Files from a USB device need to be compatible with the following file formats.

- Still images: JPEG format or RAW format (preview only)

- Music: MP3 format

- Video: AVCHD, MP4 (AVC) or MPEG1 format (not playable in some cases)

Make sure that you're using the compatible file formats in the USB Drive.

Also check if the USB Drive which you're using is compatible with the TV.

Click here to check the list of compatible devices which Sony recommends,

The accessible file or folder limit in a directory is 1,000 for USB. This limit includes non-supported files or just folders. Files or folders are populated based on their time stamps. Photo, music files or folders exceeding the limit will not be displayed.

Check if the above mentioned criteria meets the requirements.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Sansa e280

Hello,

Like most players, the device should contain 3 folders with the name
Music
Photo
Video.
Media is on the player, each type has its their specific folder name (should be int the matching location).
If deleted, make new folder names Music, Photo and Video.

When having problems with making a connection to the computer:
>
Having a version 1 player, the e280 (written on the backside):
1. On your Sansa player, press and hold the Power/Menu button for 15 seconds to turn the device completely off.
2. Slide the Hold switch so the orange portion shows.
3. On your PC, double-click My Computer (on MAC, open the desktop screen)
4. On your Sansa player, press and hold the REC button while connecting it to the PC.
5. Release the REC button when a 16MB-FORMAT drive partition appears under My Computer (on MAC, on the desktop screen)
>
Having a version 2 player, the e280v2 (written on the backside):
For step 1, 2, 3 and 5 follow the same steps as for version 1.
Only for step 4:
4. Press and hold the ( |<< ) button on your player, while connecting to the PC.

How to put movies on ps3 harddrive?

Hi skillet3716,

Format a USB drive as FAT32 file system (NTFS will not work with PS3), create a folder called "VIDEO" (without "s), put the video in there.
name new folders "PICTURE" and "MUSIC" for those types of files as well.

The PS3 will also allow you to access a variety of media file formats from the video, music and photo menus of the Cross Media Bar.

VIDEO
# MPEG-1
# MPEG-2 (PS,TS)
# H.264/MEPG-4 AVC
# MPEG-4 SP

MUSIC
# ATRAC (.oma .msa .aa3)
# AAC (.3gp .mp4)
# MP3 (.mp3)
# WAV (.wav)

IMAGES
# JPEG
# GIF
# PNG
# TIFF
# BMP

PSP WILL NOT PLAY MUSIC OR SHOW PICTURES

When you transfer the music or photos, place them in the correct folders in Root. Also, you can you should drop the files either directly in their respective folders (i.e. music in Music and photos and Photos) or you can put them in their own folders (i.e. Music\Artist or Music\Name of CD) do not go more than 2 folders deep. (while you can do Music\Artist you cannot do Music\Artist\Album).

I still haven't figured out what happened when it froze, but I solved the other problem... I just switched the options to "show hidden icons" for some reason those four folders were shown as hidden.
