Maytag refridgerator model MSD2651HEW refridge not cooling properly

Refridgerator does not cool properly. A quick check revealed cooling coils in freezer frosted over and block air flow from refridgerator. I unplugged refridge and manual defrosted. Unit worked well for about one week and same problem occured. Compressor fan beneath refridgerator working. Fan in freezer working. Dust removed from compressor coils and both of refridgerator. I also check gasket on freezer and refridgerator and don't find and problems with it. I again manually defrosted freezer coils. Same problem occurred with a week. Any ideas?

Refrigerator not cooling properly

There are several things that can cause cooling problem with your refridgerator. The first and most common is dirt dust and lint clogging the condenser coils. These coils are usually located underneath the refridgerator and have a small fan that blows air across them. If they are clogged, the refridgerator cannot get rid of the heat to allow it to cool properly. To check and clean these coils you must first pull out the refridgerator and unplug it. Remove the lower panel ( usually made of a cardboard material) this will give you access to the compressor and fan and coils. Check the coils for dust, dirt and lint. Clean out carefully with a vacuum cleaner or brush( you can get a brush specially made for this ) check the fan motor to see if it spins freely( some units may not have a fan) plug unit in to see if fan runs (make sure to temporarily turn thermostat down colder to turn on compressor and fan). If fan does not come on with compressor you may need to replace it. Put unit back in place and see if that solves the problem. If this does not help, you will probably have to have a appliance repairman check out unit.Hope this helps.

Freezer isn't working and refrigerator isn/t cooling. What is the problem? We can hear the fan running however.

my refridgerator is a Maytag side by side did the same thing checked the freezer compartment fan was working removed cover to look at the cooling coil, the coils were frozen solid ended up defrosting freezer compartment every other day. replaced the adaptive control board located in the refrigerator side top, haven't had another problem since.

Wont blow cold air

First check and clean the filters, and the evaporator coil. (thats the "inside" coil that has the indoor air sucked through it, cooling it and then pushing it out the vents.

If the filter is clogged or the coils are dirty, it will not cool properly and potentially freeze up.

Also check the condensor (outdoor) coil, if it is dirty/clogged, it will run hot and not cool properly.

If all coils and filters are clean, and the fan motors are running and in good condition and it is still not cooling then you are likely low on refridgerant. (handling/purchasing refridgerant other than R134A requres a CFC certification by law)

MAYTAG REFRIDGERATOR NOT COOLING

Check to see if the evaporator fan is blowing. Sometimes removing the back panel to expose the fan and hand turning it can make it come back on. If this doesn't work then the fan is bad. Also make sure that there is good circulation to the fridge side. Food can sometimes block air flow.

Maytag Widey Side not cooling enough

Check to see if you have frost on the back panel of your freezer in your fridge. If you do your coil is frozen over and you'll have to defrost your freezer. I just did mine cause mine wasn't cooling properly on my fridge side. If it is that it's going to fill the pan under your fridge and overflow.
