Our Maytag Quietseries 300 started doing this also. Model BTT70AWB. Thought it was the motor, replaced it and it is still doing it. Anyone figured this out yet?

I will like to understand how to access the pump. I unscrew everything inside the dish washer and clean remove all plastic pieces that was there. I also remove the blades and really desassembly until I saw the last shaft. But the noice is still there It's seam to come from under the diswasher. I hear the noice comming from the engine when I turn the shaft.

    Any Idea?

my cat runs over and looks under the dishwasher as if something is moving under there. Very loud and starts immediately not during rinse as some folks complain of.

My Dishwasher had the same loud Grinding Noise.
It was a piece of a plastic fork lodged behind the macerator blade.
This is at the suction to the pump just under the strainer. check this out first before you pull everything apart. You should be able to get to it by taking the lower arm off and pulling the strainer out. Hope this helps.

I followed the person's thinking above, and then went to YouTube to see how I could perform what they did. The video was great, and within 30 minutes I found a piece of metal under everything *about the size of a hearing aid battery". Not at all sure where it came from, but with three boys, anything can happen.... I could not put the machine back together since I started working on it a midnight and it proved harder to get the screws back in that to take it out. I need to purchase a special tool that will fit the screws well. Wishing me (and you) much luck..YouTube info: "Maytag Quiet Series dishwasher noise repair Pt. 2" Author: Robachino

Ours stopped when we changed from light wash to normal wash. Might be something in the panel associated with the wash cycle. No more clicking...keeping fingers crossed as it has not done it in a couple of months now.

Sounds like something caught in the pump.

As soon as the motor starts up after the dishwasher fills, the motor makes a loud grinding noise that turns into high pitch whining. Water begins leaking from above the pump.

That shows a leaking water seal. Water would run into the motor bearings which then rust and make noise. You probably need the motor / pump kit.

Kenmore 90 Series Washer Noise--Won't spin

For Tegres
If the noise is only when there is water flowing, check tighten the screws that mount the water fill solenoid valves to the case. The solenoids operate on line current so they vibrate at 60/50Hz (local suppply frequency) if they are loose at all, the noise is loud the body acts as resonators

For SRONEAL, that symptom describes coupling failure exactly, have you removed the coupling to check, often times the motor side hub is stripped, but there is no visible external damage

Dishwasher problems

The washer may be attempting to run dry. Many times on these washers, a person may open the washer and then go to another load. The washer gets stuck with a dry pump until the timer tells water fill valve to open. Easy test. Start on regular cycle ,slowly advance the timer. it will click until you here the fill start and water will fill until.....

Maytag dishwasher mdb56000aww

It seems that your motor on the dishwasher is going out, like mine has just done. My explanation is that it sounds like something is grinding on glass or as if a bunch of mice are making noise. Eventually, the motor will not run any more. What will happen is that the dishwasher will fill up, then make a loud humming noise, while the heating element is making the water near the heating element sizzle. Now what you have is a possible fire hazard which compounds the problem with the dishwasher. Get rid of it, take the loss and live like my grandmother used to, without having a dishwasher. That is the best advice I can give you.
