Navman s30 I just bought a navman s30. Brought it home and started to play with it to get use to how it works. All the icons in the menu were working to start with then it seemed to be after I changed the voice volume that four of the icons( food, fuel, sos and parking) were unable to be accessed.

My navman s30 stays on the safety agreement screen and can't go anywhere else?

  • garykeast Aug 03, 2008

My Navman S30 is 4 weeks old - when the safety agreement is accepted the loading screen is displayed and then the message "some maps failed to load correctly". The only button wich can be pressed is "OK" which returns you to the safety agreement. It worked fine for the first couple of weeks but a few days before it failed completely it did drop out occationally while driving and go back to the safety agreement.

    Can anyone help?

The 4 buttons you mention ( food, fuel, sos and parking) will only work if you have a GPS signal. it cant tell you where your nearest petrol station is if it doesnt know where you are?
Any software can have a glitch and as the S30 is a removable USB drive you can format it and relaod the whole software.

Mine now after being used twice for directions and having turned on about 10 times is stuck at the safety agreement page and every time i press "accept" it loads maps, then the load bar goes back down, seems like it gets stuck and then returns to the safety agreement page.. you can do this over and over again with it stuck in the loop.
Of course it is covered by warranty (as are all new electricals) so i have sent it back but i think if i have the same problem again im going for a tomtom my uncles had one for about 2 years and my cousin about one and both never had a problem..
I think navman may need to review the foundations of the firmware used in their s30 or make it as easy to install from home as the nokias and tomtom's are today.

Surely this is covered by warranty. Has anyone contacted Navman to find out about repair/replacement?

Nothing on screen except plug into computer

might need an update or could be something wrong with the software and it needs to call home. Hook it up with a computer usb port on side of unit and let it call home. Also check with Navman and see if they have an updater program for your computer first.

Navman s30 maps update

I have provided a link to the "Navman" mapping page for your model S30.

http://www.navmanstores.com.au/2009%20Mapping/S-Series.htm

This is for online purchase, please read the "Important Notice" on the page for your maps, it advises what you need to have with you to install and activate your new maps.

Kind regards

Navman s30 3d 2009 map update is useless

You should be able to install your old map from the DVD/CD that originally came with your Navman - you don't need a Product Key for this, even if it prompts you for one.

It appears that the commercially available 2009 map for the S-Series does *not* cover the S30 3D, just the non-3D versions, although that's not at all obvious from what's on Navman's web-site, so you have my sympathies if you bought it expecting it to work...
