Tries unplug, replug it back like an hour later.Letting the DVD player resetting itself back to the factory setting.Tries it than, see if it work than. Not,than tries hook it up with the RCA component cable Y,R,W.If still have the same problems, the PCB in the DVD player is bad.Not worth repairing.Trash it.DVD players are very cheap these days.U can get a brand new one like for $40 dollars.

Excellent advice. Did the trick. Thank you! Now two questions for Toshiba: (1) Why doesn't Toshiba post this advice in their user manual? (2) What kind of poor engineering and/or poor ergonomic design could result in a user accidentally causing this issue in the first place? Something to think about when we buy our next DVD player!

Our SDK990KU stopped working on the HDMI cable also. Changing to RCA component cable made the DVD player work. Thanks for the tip. Saved us $$$ for new DVD.

I have a Toshiba tv that is connected to Direct tv and I want to know how to connect my new Phillips dvd player to it my tv?

Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

My subwoofer stop working

I have a Sony 46" LCD TV. I have a Direct TV HD converter box, a Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S360 Blu-Ray player, and a Pioneer DVD-Audio player connected to my Pioneer Elite Home Theater receiver. I have my Pioneer DVD-A player connected via Fiber-Optic cable. When i play a DVD or a DVD-A on my Pioneer DVD-A player, all of my speakers work fine, but when i play a dvd on my blu-ray player, all the speakers work except my subwoofer. How can I fix this problem?

Tivo HD displays ''hdmi connection not permitted''

This happened to me many times with my Sharp 40" LCD. I am actually running 2 tvs of of 1 HD Tivo. One in the bedroom with HDMI and then through the wall into my kitchen tv via Component. ( yes whatever is on in the bedroom plays in the kitchen).. So this AM my power dropped out for a few seconds then came back on. When the Tivo rebooted I got that " hdmi connection not permitted" message. In the past, I would just reboot everything and all would be ok.. But today I couldnt get the tv with the HDMI to display the programming. It would show the tivo menus, but when I tried to play anything or watch live tv, the message would pop up again. The kitchen TV with the components was working the whole time...
So finally I rebooted the Tivo one more time. But this time I left the HDMI cable unplugged from the Sharp in the bedroom untill the Tivo was fully booted and a live channel was playing in the kitchen. I then plugged the HDMI back into the bedroon TV, and it came back on. Im not saying this will work for you, But its worth a try

Display on but no sound from any input

I have a similar problem. I connected a Toshiba HD-a2 dvd player and cannot get digital audio from any of the hd movies. Regular dvd's play just fine. Toshiba told me the receiver is to old and can't process the new format. I was wondering if there is an upgrade for the receiver or any other way I can get 5.1 out of this receiver with out having to get a new one..

Can't play AUX inputs through Panasonic surround sound

Check the TV audio output setting. There may be 3 settings for audio output. Fixed/variable/none. Try all of the settings, and see if you get your audio back. If not, try a different cable between the TV and DVD player. I suspect this is a red/white RCA audio cable.
