It sounds like the control board blew out. I have had a couple of these just blow like that lately. The bake and broil wont work. . Check for any bad wiring but the control board is most likely the culprit.
That sounds like the heating element went out when it first goes it could look like a lightning strike. Replacing the bake or broil element ,depending which one was on at the time will fix your oven. If you were baking replace bake element if ya werebroiling replace that one. Reply with EXACT model number and i'll give ya the part number
send the model number and brand name, you should check the parts with a meter so you don't go out and start buying parts and changing them when they are still good.if you heard a pop most of the time either the bake or broil element did break, when you are baking the broil element doe heat up,did you check the broil element?if not unplug the stove, pull out the broil element and with a meter check for continuity,if both elements are good the clock could be bad or a wire shorted but the only way to tell is by getting in there with a meter and start checking parts and wires,if you heard a pop something did either short out or a part is cooked, also check where the cord connects to the machine
do you have voltage? you have to have 240 volts if you only have 120 this might happen check your breaker. does your bake element work? if neither bake or broil work always check the breaker first and let me know
Not popping sound you heard was the element popping take care of it out did you take your fingers and go round the outside of the element you'll find a whole the place that element you get your heat back
