Bobbin Case While trying to put bobbin into bobbin case the entire bobbin case came out of sewing machine. Now I have removed the metal plate and am unable to place bobbin case back into my sewing machine. The Singer Manuel is not too easy to understand. Please help I have projects too complete. Thank You

It is probably one of two things,
1st..always put the needle plate on before you install the bobbin case. You can lock the bobbin case down by putting the needle plate on after putting the bobbin case in. Take off the plate and remove the bobbin case, install the needle plate, then install the bobbin case.
2nd...your bobbin case may be damaged now, if it is scratatched or chipped get a new case.

Perhaps remove the bobbin case and check that you have put it back correctly. Check with the sewing machine manual to see how it is done correctly. Make sure that the top of the bobbin case is at the top of the bobbin case holder and make sure you change the needle as it will probably be dull or bent from hitting the metal of the bobbin case.

the bobbin case will fit in easily when you have it in the correct position; the bobbin part in to the front, turn slightly to the left then push down. look at the manual, they are easily found on line if you have lost it. you need to take the metal plate off first by removing the screw, which is how you get the case out in the first place

The bobbin case is designed to be removed for cleaning. Take off the needle plate if it is still on the sewing machine. Make sure that the needle and presser foot are fully up. Guide the forked end of the bobbin case under the feed (more or less centered). Then pull the bobbin case under the rim of the position plate. Pull on the side opposite the forked end of the bobbin case. With a small screw driver, turn the lever (at about 10 o'clock on a 12-hour analog clock) towards you. This will lock the bobbin case into place. Make sure that the bobbin case isn't locked too tightly. It still needs to move slightly as the bobbin turns and the needle comes through that plate.

Replace the needle plate and lock it down. Then insert the bobbin and close the slide plate. The manual shows the procedure to remove and replace the bobbin case on the 4562 on page 39. (I hope that the locking lever hasn't broken. That may require a service person to solve the problem. I'm not entirely sure where that lever is connected to the machine. Remove the needle plate for better access and try using a seam ripper to gently cut the threads and continue to remove with the tweezers.

The needle plate is the metal plate under the presser foot and is held into place with at least two screws.

The bobbin fits into the bobbin case.

The bobbin case fits into the bobbin shuttle.

Once you get the jam cleaned away, raise the needle to it's highest position and remove the bobbin case and/or replace the bobbin case.

Jamming can cause the machine to be out of time.

If you thead the machine with the presser foot up, have the bobbin inserted into the bobbin case correctly and the stiching is loose and loopy the machine may need to go into the shop for service.

According to the manual, this is a drop-in bobbin.

If the bobbin case came loose, the needle would probably hit it and brake.

Take the bobbin out.

Turn of the power and remove the needle plate (under the presser foot).

Raise the needle to it's highest position and lift out and reset the bobbin case into the shuttle. This should be in the maintenance section of the manual. The bobbin case should fit snug.

Make sure the thread is feeding from the bobbin, counter-clockwise and through the guides on the bobbin case.

For a rotary bobbin with a metal bobbin case.

Remove the bobbin case. Make sure the thread is feeding clock-wise and through the guide on the side of the bobbin case.

Raise the needle to it's highest position - this puts the hook at the lower left. Left the tab on the back of the bobbin case and slip the bobbin case back into the shuttle with the "arm" straight up. You may have to move the bobbin case a bit to the left or right for it to snap into place.

If the problem persits, take the machine back to the dealer - there should not be a charge for fixing this as it is brand new - keep your receipt and warranty information at hand.

re-thread the top thread

when putting in the bobbin, make sure you put it in right,

hold the bobbin between you thumb and first finger of your right hand when you pull the thread with left hand it should rotate the bobbin counter clockwise.

If you run your machine all day you need to clean under the bobbin case,

Take the cover plate off, take out the bobbin case and clean under, i take a q-tip with machine oil and rub around the inside of the metal case and around the bobbin case,

replace the plastic bobbin case making sure it's in right, turn the hand wheel by hand, the case should stay still and the inside will move, the needle should not hit anything

put all back together and try again

if the bobbin turns clockwise you are going to have problems

Viking bobbin case tension adjustment:
When the bobbin runs out, sometimes it bends the bobbin case tension spring. Then tension is too light. Take the bobbin case out of the machine. Tie the loose bobbin thread to the Designer 1 needle plate. Insert the bobbin in the bobbin case. Here’s the tricky part set the bobbin case on the table as if it’s in the machine (Bobbin is visible and sitting horizontal to table top) threaded as if sewing and loose end tied to needle plate (that is removed from the machine). Lift the bobbin case off the table rotate it so that the flat side of the bobbin are vertical to the table and no longer horizontal. Have the bobbin case oriented so that the thread coming out of the bobbin case sprint (slot area where it is put for sewing) is at the top. Lift it high enough that the needle plate is lifted from the table. It should not release thread unless you shake it gently and then a very small amount of thread. The needle plate is the exact weight resistance your bobbin case should have on the thread.

ok Sim this is a bit tricky but not to tricky first turn the handwheel toward you until the hook is at one o clock postion then slide the case without the bobbin in into the hook area you may have to work the handwheel back and forth alittle but it should slide in just remember that the case should ride in the rim. also take the needle out first that way you wont get stuck trust me it happiens.
