I have a Janome Sewist 525 and I love it, I've had for about 3 years and never had any problems. I have a question though. I have the manual that came with it and nowhere in the entire manual does it say anything about oiling the machine. I have checked it thoroughly. I found some general instructions online about oiling Janome machines, but I was wondering why doesn't the manual that came with the machine say anything about oiling it? I would like to know the correct process to oil my machine. Thank you.

Does janome sewist 500 sewing machine need oiling? The manual does not say anything about it.

probably has wicks then thatthe mechanic will lubricate during service. the manual will probably say to have it serviced annually and to brush out the bobbin area often. this is important as lint will build up.

I am interested in buying a Janome 525 but want to know if it has a built in overlocker

A sewing machine and an overlocker are two completly different things, but a sewing machine is usually able to do a cover stitch. An overlocker will cut the fabric at the same time, a sewing machine cannot do this.

Drag in feed dog

There are differing opinions about canned air. Some technicians are totally opposed to its use as it will force lint and debris farther into the machine's cavities requiring a professional to clean them.

If you have been using your machine a lot even though it's only been a year, it may just need some TLC from your favorite sewing machine technician. Most machine vendors recommend an annual check, cleaning, and adjustment.
