We bought our grill last summer and it worked fine. When we got it out of the garage this summer and replaced the gas, it wouldn't start. We can smell the gas so we know it is reaching the burners.

This sounds like an ignitor problem to me. You could replace the ignitor or you could light with a match. Most of these grills have an access point usually on the right side to light the burners with a match just make sure you light the match first and hold it into the access point before you turn the gas on.

On the Jenn-Air 720-0061 LP gas gill, where do the main burner igniters get their electricity from?

Unscrew the ignition button and you will find a single AA Battery. Page 8 of the manual refers.

BATTERY ASSEMBLY
• In order to install the battery, remove the ignition button housing. Please keep the positive
pole of the battery facing toward you. Insert the battery into the housing. Replace the
ignition button housing after battery is installed.

And a tip, don't let rain fall on that button. I was BBQing last autumn in torrential rain and the next time I used the grill, the igniter didn't work. I dried it replaced the battery, sprayed it with WD40 and nothing worked. This summer it started working again.

I have not used my endless summer patio heater since last fall. I bought a new tank of propaned, cleaned out the cobwebs checked all connections and tried to light up the heater. It does not work. I can...

Mike, the problem started when you turned the new tank ON. But, it is correctable most of the time.

Turn the LP tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the gas valve VERY, VERY, SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the tank valve is fully open, light the pilot and hold the gas control valve in for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Release the control valve and turn it to the ON position. Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve on Very, Very Slowly.

If the above didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the heater's Hose/Regulator Assembly. A gas Grill's Hose Regulator Assembly should work and you can purchase one from any hardware store of home center that sells grills & accessories for about $30.00. Take your old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

When i tried to start my weber q after the winter i put the dial to start and pressed the button it clicked but wouldn"t start i had put a new tank on. my e-mail is [email protected]

Do a few things, check that there are no gas leaks (soapy water) can help. if there are no bubbles, at the valve where you attached to the tank. shut the tank off wait 1or 2 minutes then slowly open the LP gas cylinder. try to start the grill. If nothing shut the gas off and check the flame grids for water, spider webs, or holes clogged with fat and filth. Also check the igniter for spark, dead batteries or bad connection at electrode may cause it to fail.
