There are two to reformat your device. Just follow these instructions

From menu of your device:
1. Turn on your Sansa C240
2. From the main options menu, select " Settings "
3. Select " Format " and " Yes "

Formatting Manually:
1. Turn off Sansa C240
2. Slide the " Hold " switch on the bottom of the device to the " On " position
3. Press and hold the " Play " button. Press and release the " Power " button.
4. Hold the " Play " button until the LED screen displays the message " About to format device."
5. Release the " Play " button and press the " Next " button once.

Try these steps and let me know if you manage to reformat your device.
I could instruct you on how to reformat this device on your pc just post back.

My songs wont add onto my sandisk sansa mp3 player

What format are the songs you're not able to hear? It's possible that the songs are not in a format the Sansa can play.

Also, you can navigate your Sansa like a removable drive. Try going to "My Computer" and looking to see what's actually on the drive.

Won't delete songs

EEK i know what this is , the memory cells or NAND/Flash storage on the mp3 is dying as you cannot delete it , you can try to add an sd/mmc/xd card if your mp3 supports to add and delete songs as it wont be affected it but it wont cure the fact that you cant delete it .

Alternatively you can update the mp3 player firmware by downloading it from the web or you can try to return it under warrently (number in support manual)

As a last resort you can connect it to the pc right click it and press format this will erase all data /everything on your mp3.

Bad track error. songs arent deleting after reformatting and resetting multiple amounts of times.

There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details

If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files

I cant even delete my music or put new music on...

Instead of deleting the songs you may need to format.

If you haven't tryed this follow these simple steps.

To format your device first click on "Start" then click on "My Computer" now look for your mp3 player, if it hasn't been change the names usually called "Removable Disk", once you've found that right-click on it then click on "Format".

Now you've formatted put songs on then try your mp3 player to see if the problems be fixed.

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.
