The ghost image you are seeing is known as Screen burn-in. CRT tvs and more commonly plasmas are susceptible to this fault. Only solution is to replace the CRT which is usually not cost effective.

Barry, remove the back cover by removing the screws with an arrow next to them. The fuse is located on the left side as viewed from the back, where the power cord connects to the circuit board.

hi. this will be an easy fix for you if you are a good solder. you will need to replace the convergence chip that is located on the PC board(main). this chip is damaged and it has failed due to this damage that has occurred. click below for your new convergence chip(stk).

What kind of shadowing are you seeing? Doe the picture look like a 3D movire (colors separated)? What is the make and model?

Please update this with the above info and I'll provide possible solutions.

Sony KP61HS10 and timewarner digital cable box. Don't know which is the problem. Problem is a blue/white ghost on all channels. Tried unplug both units, tried flash focus. Shadow/ghost is now curved image...

I'm going to guess that these ghosts are of different colors too. This is most likely a convergence problem. Try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs first. If that fails, replace them.
These ICs are large and black, attached to a heatsink. They will be marked STKxxx.
Keep us posted.

Double picture

Can you give more details? What do you mean by Double picture? Do you have 2 pictures side by side or One on top of another? Or is it like a shadow behind the main Image? If it is a shadow (Ghosting), check your Antenna - connection, direction, etc.

Double images on my Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100

You may want to try disconnecting the power for about 30 seconds and rechecking the TV. Otherwise, it may not be worthwhile repairing.
