Sony BRAVIA KDL-40S2000 40 in. LCD HDTV Logo
Posted on Jun 19, 2008

Sony Bravia I just picked up this Sony Bravia 1081 40" LCD HDTV. I matched the connections from my old tv to the Sony. I have Verizon Fios and a dvd player connected. I am able to watch DVD movies- and get sound. I can hear tv stations through FIOS, but I'm not getting any video. Did I screw up the connections? or is there something I'm not doing right?

How are you connecting the Verizon Fios to the TV? Co-axle cable, Component, CompositeHD, HDMI, DVI? It sounds like you have the connection wrong or a bad input is also possible.

I have purchased KLV-40W400A Full HD but I am not satisfied with the picture quality. When the issue was raised sony is putting blame on Tata Sky and vise versa.
Kindly suggest.

Now have verizon Fios and cannot get DVD player to play

Check the connection cable. If the Verizon box and the DVD player are connecting to the same TV input, ensure that the Verizon fios box is connecting to DVD input, and DVD output is connecting to TV.

If you connect DVD out to Verizon box input, and then TV , you will have to turn off the receiver box to see DVD.

If you use only one TV Input connect Verizon output to DVD input and DVD out to TV.

If instead you use separate inputs on TV, then try using the source/select input button on TV remote, and try different cables.

Regards.

Sony 52" Bravia LCD will drop picture and sound for 1-2 seconds

the only thing that i can think of is that the cables and connections are bad but if that is not the case it may be the internal components of the tv. my guess is that the tv was dropped or jumbled around while transported and what happened was internal components were broken or just mixed up so go to the retailer and get a refund or a new tv. hope this helps

We lose audio on our Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W4100

This problem appears to be an issue with numerous Sony Bravia owners of the same model. Although still seeking a soulution, it would appear that our cable provider (Verizon) has replaced all of their components and the Geek Squad from Best Buy where we purchased the unit, points the finger at Verizon. None of our other Fios-equipped TV's exhibit this problem so I am glad we bought the service plan with the TV and will continue to seek a remedy.

NEED REMOTE CODE

Go on the Verizon website and request a new remote, the Verizon P265 Remote model. It will have all the newest firmware and it should have the code. I know this because I had a TCL 32" TV and the code wasn't on my old Philips RC 1445302 model. TV and new remote are "talking" just fine now. Verizon won't even want the old one back.

Sony Bravia with Phillps dvd player

The DVD player may have multiple output formats that can be displayed. Sounds like you have the composite output selected when you have the component output selected on the DVD player. Check the menu options on the DVD player and confirm they match the way you have the player connected

Connecting old DVD player to LCD

Just respect the colors. Green output from the dvd to green input tv, Red output from the dvd to red input tv and the same with blue. All 3 cables (green , red, blue) are for the picture, so you got to plug another 2 for the sound.
