How can i locate the mac or wifi address on my Sony Ericssson Satio.

- go to data/misc/wifi (required root)
-backup file wpa_supplicant.conf in this folder which contains usename and password wifi
- delete all file in this folder
- turn on wifi ( if you careful, you can reboot )
- now you can connect to wifi
- recovery file wpa_supplicant.conf

Locate the wi fi radio information label on the laptop. The mac address is what you need. Next, open the configuration page on your home router.Type 192.168.1.1 on a computer connected by a cable to your router and then log on with the user name and password. Once logged on , locate the wireless tab and then open the mac filtering tab. check the enable box and then very carefully type in the WIFI mac address into the list. You edit each section by highlighting the two digit 00's between the colons to enter the numbers and letters.Save and exit the router page. If you do it this way only your laptop will be able to connect to your wi fi.

Do some research on your router you are looking for "MAC address" page or option within the router settings. Your device should come with a MAC address, try entering the devices MAC Address into the router page, apply the settings. Router should reboot and after rebooting your device you should have a constant internet connection.
I own a linksys router that will only allow internet to other devices by entering the devices MAC ADdress into the router.

The MAC address is the unique identifier for your network device. You can try to add the MAC address directly to your WiFi router in case someone turned this feature on you router.

To see your MAC go to "Settings - Wi Fi - Options Button - My MAC address".

Select the WiFi app from the Main Menu screen
- Turn WiFi on
- Choose the Menu icon in the upper right of the screen, just below the clock
- 3 options should show in the menu
Connection Logs,
My MAC Address,
WiFi Sleep Setting.
- Choose My MAC Address, and it will show the properly formatted hex code, similar to this_ F0:A1:B2:C3:D4:E5.

Hi,

Some generic solutions for WiFi dropping out may include:
1. Use of static IP addresses for the clients (in your case the 2 Sony VPL-CX86s) rather than auto obtain;
2. Disable the WEP/WPA security;
3. Set MAC filter in your router and include MAC addresses of the 2 projectors;
4. Try raising the height/position of the router; and/or
5. use an aftermarket high gain antenna for the router.

As a reminder, WiFi works by line of sight (LOS), anything in between will reduce signal strength/coverage and that include people around/near the projector unknowingly blocking the router.
