Why I got the message "close cover - upper cover open" ?

There is a sensor on the front left side usualy that detects the cover open or closed state. Check it maybe you made a mistake at assembling it or something came in between and the sensor can't detect it.

Cartridges error on a lexmark

Error: "Invalid Toner Cartridge"; Error: "Invalid Refill"; Message: "Change Cartridge"
Solution
One of these error messages may appear on the printer display immediately after or shortly after a new toner cartridge is installed into the printer. Note: This may not be specifically a toner cartridge problem; the error may be due to a stuck cover open switch on the printer.

To see if the cover open switch is the cause of this problem, open the top front cover and observe the message on the printer's display panel. The display should read Close Door or Insert Cartridge.

If this message is not displayed, the top cover open sensor and switch will need to be replaced. In addition, the printer may have damaged the new toner cartridge. If the cover open sensor is not operating properly, a new cartridge can be incorrectly flagged as a refilled cartridge by the printer. If this happens, the new cartridge will continue to cause an Invalid Refill or Invalid Cartridge error even if you try reinstalling it or installing it into another printer. If this should occur, please contact the point of purchase of the cartridge to find out how to get the cartridge replaced.

Caution: If the cover open sensor is not operating, do not install another new toner cartridge until you have completed the directions below. Inserting another new cartridge can cause that cartridge to stop working as well. Should this situation arise, please take the following actions:

Place the original working cartridge (the empty or near-empty one) back into the printer. This should clear the error message.

Turn the printer off. Doing this will disengage the cover open sensor.

With the printer switched off, open the top lid and remove the old toner cartridge.

Now replace the old cartridge with another new Lexmark toner cartridge.

Power the printer back on. The printer should now read this cartridge as a newly installed toner cartridge and the error should be cleared. The printer and toner cartridge should function properly now, but the top cover sensor on the printer will still need to be replaced.

If your printer is still under warranty or covered under a service contract, please contact Lexmark Technical Support or your service provider for further recommendations and instructions. Until you can get the cover open switch replaced, remember to have the printer powered off whenever you replace the toner cartridge.

If the top cover switch appears to be working fine, or if you have followed the above steps and your printer continues to post an Invalid Toner Cartridge or Invalid Refill error, make sure you are using a new original Lexmark toner cartridge. A toner cartridge remanufactured or refilled by a third party can cause this error.

To help identify a refilled cartridge, look for the yellow label attached to the toner drum and the body of the toner cartridge. If this is damaged or removed, the cartridge may have been refilled.

If you are using a third-party refilled or remanufactured toner cartridge, it is recommended that you install a new Lexmark brand toner cartridge. Lexmark cannot guarantee the compatibility of any third-party toner cartridges with our printers.

OR

1 Switch on the Lexmark X83 printer.

2 Lift open the cartridge door at the front of the device, below the scanner unit. The printer automatically moves the cartridge carrier to the correct position.

3 Pull each ink cartridge toward you to unclasp it from the carrier. Lift the cartridge out of the cartridge carrier.

4 Clean the copper contacts on the bottom of each cartridge with a clean, dry lint-free cloth. Use a gentle, circular motion to clean the contacts.

5 Insert the ink cartridges back into the cartridge carrier. Push back firmly on each cartridge until it snaps into place.

6 Repeat each step in this procedure again. Close the cartridge door.

Can't send faxes , keeps saying document jamed

Open the front cover by pulling it towards you (that is the cover where are the digits and other function keys), see if any paper has inside and than close the front cover and press the " Stop " button.
Remember if you do not close the front cover good the message will still appear on the screen because the machine thinks that the cover is not closed. That happen because of the sensor on the front cover which detects do the front cover is closed so check dose the door is good closed. If your machine do not pull the documents in the " document feeder " than open the front cover and you will see pair of rubbers inside, clean them with alcohol or glass cleaner and clean peace of cloth.

Aculaser C2600 "clean sensor" message won't clear. Have just replaced K toner and it printed about 300 copies then stopped with the message. opened cover and closed it but after calibrating the message...

This is a common characteristic which arises from using improperly remanufactured toner cartridges.
Otherwise it is a bad Epson original one - which is highly unusual!

When the C2600 runs through its calibration it prints strips of each colour on the transfer belt which are sensed for density. You will get a "clean sensor message" if the reading for any of the strips drops below a certain value.

The first thing to do is to depress the clean sensor lever behind the front cover several times . If that doesn't fix it I would advise you to remove each cartridge in turn (go to reset menu and scroll down to change toner) and inspect the toner on the surface of the roller. If there is any form of "sheen" then you'll need to replace the cartridge.

It is possible to adjust the doctor blade if you know what you're doing but be careful as there are shims on each side. Loosening and moving the blade bar towards the roller slightly, refixing and then turning the side cog to rotate the roller can sometimes resolve problem. Not a good idea really unless you're in an emergency.
There are some good remanufactured cartridges and bad ones. If you want to avoid this buy genuine Epson cartridges - I know they're expensive but what does the down time cost!

Doc. Cover Open displayed

That usually means some sensor giving you trouble.

This is what brother recomends:

How do I clear the message Cover Open or Please Close Cover from the display?

The message Cover Open or Pls Close Cover may appear if the front cover
for the drum was not closed securely. Verify the cover is closed
securely by pressing the cover release button located in the front of
the unit below the Output Tray Support Flap and open the front cover.
Close the cover until it clicks into place.

If the message continues to appear on the display verify the drum and
toner assembly is installed correctly by following the steps listed
below:

1. Press the cover release button located in the front of the unit and
open the front cover.

2. Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge from the unit by lifting it
up and out. Place it on a drop cloth or disposable paper to avoid
scattering toner.

3. Hold down the blue lock lever located on the right side of the drum
and lift the toner cartridge out of the drum unit.

4. Reinstall the toner cartridge into the drum unit by inserting it in
the drum until it clicks into place

5. Reinstall the drum unit into the unit. Make sure it is securely in
place.

6. Close the cover until it clicks into place

If that doesn't fix it, I guess you will have to talk to their support people.

Good luck!

Try to find the latch in the cover that presses a switch to indicate it is closed it is usually a small stick projection at the sides of the cover. Replace the cartridge it should fit snuggly then try it again.

Inner Cover error on Canon PIXMA ip4300 printer

This is a "Sensor" issue, there is a sensor that detects when the Cover is closed, this is either faulty, not being activated, or being activated but not registering at the CPU. Sometimes it is an actual switch, others it is a hall effect sensor, optical, magnetic sensor or the like. Have a squiz and see if ya can see any sensor etc. maybe its blocked etc. Otherwise I think it's gonna have to go 4 repair.. If so get a firm "Quote" B4 allowing them to proceede.
