Is there a key combination for the ACER Aspire 5734Z-4725 that will do "page up", "page down" and Home and end? I tried number lock and it seems like that just gives me the arrow control again. I don't need that AGAIN! I need home, end, page up, page down. Any ideas?

Acer aspire 5734z laptop

Lots of laptop have power profiles that switch when either AC is plugged in or removed.
There should be a memorized screen brightness setting in your power management options. Usually it's located in the built-in Windows settings under Control Panel -> Power Options -> Edit Plan Settings.
You should see a brightness slider for the screen for "On Battery" and "Plugged In". Pick your brightness from there and it should stick.
Another way is to use the "FN" key on your keyboard. Hold down the FN key and press the associated brightness picture, which on your Acer, should be the RIGHT and LEFT arrow keys. Keep holding the FN and tap the right or left to increase or decrease the brightness. Usually the setting will stick this way, but somethings you have to use the control panel method for it to really stay.
You also might have another program for power like Acer ePowerManagement which should have the same settings as windows, but layed out differently.

Acer Aspire 5734z-4725 battery not charging

If your laptop computer runs normally on the ac adapter, but the battery won't charge, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1) Remove the battery from the system.

2) Look at the connectors in the bay and on the battery for signs of physical damage.

3) Check the battery charge by pressing the status button or image on the battery near the LED's. Note: The lights indicate the current amount of charge on the battery. If all the LED's come on when you press on the butto, the battery is fully charged. If fewer lights are lit, then the battery is partially charged. If any lights flashm or blinkm there could be a problem with the battery.

4) Reinsert the battery; puch until it locks into place and the latch snaps back to the locked position.

Want to restore to original setting 5734z-4725

You could go to control panel then system tools and system restore. There is a calender there to go back before the problem. Just click on the date and click restore. Your system will go back to that date without losing most of your programs.

The touchpad and scroll on my acer aspire 5734z does not work

It sounds like you've accidentally locked the touchpad. To unlock it hit the Fn key (lower left corner, between the CTRL and WIN buttons, it should be labeled with blue Fn label) and F7. That's Fn+F7, press and hold the Fn key, and then hit and release the F7 key, and then release the Fn key. On my Aspire this is the combination to toggle on and off the touchpad. It may be a different combination on your laptop but the rule of thumb is that you need the Fn key and one of the F1-F12 keys. The correct Function key will be labeled with a rectangle and a hand over it, illustrating a touchpad. Once you locate the key, press it and the Fn key as I explained above, and that should be it.

My new Acer Aspire 5734z shutdown the day before yesterday. It sometimes will let me stay a few secs in safemode but then shuts down again. I dont understand why and im not really good at fixing computers...

Please try fixing it by running LKGC.

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
