Hotpoint condenser dryer ctd00

The drum is turning with no clothes in.When clothes are put in drum turns very slowly then stops.

Change the drive belt. evidently the belt has stretched to the point the belt tensioning device can no longer do its job. when you change the belt make a diagram of which way the belt is reaved through the tensioning device. if you don't you'll be back here asking how to arrange the belt.

it looks like you need to put the belt back on which is inside the machine. to do this open the lid with screws on back take lid off then you should see the belt inside the machine and where is was before on the drum of the machine. slip it back on and put lid back on and it should start turning again. hope this helps.

Hotpoint Clothes Dryer (ctd00) is tearing clothes.
Hi, It sounds likethe front tub bearing (Glides) might be wore down. To raise the top....... there are two screws located where the door closes to the front panel that hols the top down. Remove those screws and the top should raisse up. Look down toward the front of the drum and see if the glides or felt are ok.

Drying Problems with a Hotpoint CTD00
There is a thermal fuse at the back that you must check. The thermal fuse can be tested using a multimeter.
If the fuse is ok, then check the heating element , the temp probe, wiring harness to heating element and temp sensor, and if there is nothing in there , then test control timer board.

Condensing tumble dryer not running
has the belt shredded and wrapped itself around the shaft? try to manually rotate the drum to see if the belt is free and the motor shaft moves. it sounds like the motor is stuck and the smell is the uncirculated heat at the back. let me know your results.
taking the lid off will gain access.
