I have a 2 GB kingston usb, it has broken apart for example, you can see the whole panel that the sliver piece sits on./But, I am trying to get the data off the usb so I can transfer it to another file. However, the silver part that plug into the output on the computer won't read it. Meanwhile, I need some advice on how quickly I can temporary recover my data until I can transfer it to my new Kingston 2GB usb. Thanks Malinda

SOURCE: 8 gb kingston Data Traveller showing zero disk space

All you need to do is to format the Pen Drive.
Open My computer.
Right Click on Pen drive.
Then click on Format. You will get different options like quick format or such.
Select the option that says complete format.
Once you format the drive you will be able to use it.

Thanks
Jimmy

MY Kingston 2 GB USB Hard Drive is detected and is visible in my computer but when i try to open it is says Please insert a disk into Drive ???????????????

I personally have had this problem and it is almost next to impossible to fix.
Somewhere along in the use of the USB drive it was reformatted as CDFS, the file system for CD-ROMS. From my experiences, the only way to fix this is to open the case up and see if there is a jumper ( A small switch) on the circuit board, then switch it over, then back to where it was. If there isn't you really just have a useless piece of plastic. Sorry.
