Cannot get my Roku to connect to my Belkin router. It works fine with this computer -- in same room. I even tried disconnecting from the router to get the Roku to connect with no results that way.

have you tried turning off Wireless Zero Configuration

Go to Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services

Scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration, right clicking properties, and Stopping the service in Service Status.

Do this on all the Pcs,

If this solves the problem, turn off Wireless Zero Configuration permanently by changing Startup type to Disabled

SOURCE: My Belkin n1 router disconnects from telstra every 2 hours - exac

This is a known problem with the Belkin N1 Vision Modem Router. The router keeps time by connecting to a Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) server every 2 hours. The solution is to go to www.belkin.com and download and install the pre-release firmware which is supposed to fix "A problem where the router could drop some connections on 2-hour intervals" among other things.

Had to get a new router now my roku says my network is not shown

Sir,

The quick fix: make sure your router's DNS settings are properly set to an External IP address. If DNS1 or DNS2 show up as internal IPs such as: 192.168.1.x, then your Roku won't connect to the Internet.

Here is the detailed fix:

  • Login to your router. (typically this is done through an internal ip address like 192.168.1.100). You enter this IP address directly into your web browser same as you would a website. **NOTE some people actually enter web addresses into Google, and then navigate that way. This won't work. Enter the IP address directly into the browser's Location or Navigation bar at the top. This will take you to your router's login screen. *NOTE sometimes the router's default password is "password". But it's possible that your password was changed during installation. If you don't have your router's password, contact your Internet provider.

  • Once logged into your router, navigate to its DNS settings. My guess is that if your Roku isn't working, it's because rather than an external IP address being used for your DNS, the router is set to use an internal IP address. (Your computer is able to overcome this because it has built-in DNS settings, but the Roku looks to the router for this information.)

  • Replace the internal DNS address with a public DNS address. What worked for us was using Google's public DNS. So set DNS1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS2 to 8.8.4.4 .

  • Save your settings.

  • Run the Roku setup again. If you still aren't able to connect to the Internet, then bounce (unplug) the router. Leave it unplugged for 15 seconds. Then power it back up. Try again with the Roku. If that doesn't work, bounce the Roku. Leave it unplugged for 15 seconds, plug the power back in. The 15-second rule with computers and hardware is surprisingly effective.

  • If you've set the DNS properly, your Roku should now (finally) connect to the Internet. When this happens, it will complete its setup process and you should be good to go.

Not sure if router is sending signal to roku

Go to the settings menu, then Network, If the Roku sees your network all you have to do is put in the WEP key to connect to your home wireless network. If the Roku does not see your home network try moving the router or the Roku away from any heavy metal in the room, (ie fireplace, or objects). Hope this helps FixYa up.

Router is connecting my computer - want to stream netflix - using a ROKU to stream - but it keeps telling me that it cannot connect to the internet, even tho my computer is connected. I have tried...

It seems that the wireless connection between the router and the ROKU is broken due to which you are not able to see the video. i am not sure about the settings of the ROKU but if you want then i can take the remote access of your computer and try checking the configuration of your router and roku (if possible)

Internet connection kicks off intermittently

most likely the issue is mostly on the belkin side as you deff don't want to use belkin product for any sort of gaming. If oyu want to continue using it try going to belkin.com and checking for firmware updates for all the devices in the picture and belkin seems to send out a lot of firmware updates to fix he bad ones they have already sent out.

Belkin Wireless G Router causes loss of internet connection

Does your router have one LED lamp for each "wired" port?
If so, does unplugging the Ethernet-cable (the one that connects to your desktop PC) cause the lamp to go off?
Does reconnecting that cable cause the lamp to go on?

Also, on your desktop computer, there could be a lamp right beside where the Ethernet-cable connects into your computer.
Again, disconnect the cable, and reconnect the cable, to see if that lamp goes off/on.

Have you tried a different cable?

Do *NOT* connect your desktop computer to the 'WAN' port on the router -- connect it to any of the "LAN" ports.

Belkin F5D9230-4 router with xbox live

I was having troubles with a belkin router as well. i called belkin tech support and they never helped as they would not accept that the router was the problem. i found i could connect the xbox directly to a modem and it would work fine but when i connected it through the router it would always disconnect from games or not allow me to join a game, only host them, with no one else joining. no matter if i forwarded the appropriate ports, put the specific ip address into the dmz or even turn upnp on (i've tried different combos of each, all on at same time, to even setting up manually) and nothing would change. I found that the router had an option to turn off NAT which belkin told me would render the router useless.  I decided to go against them, turned it off and set the ip and dns to go with the modem. Now everything works fine as the router just acts as an expensive multi plug and wireless system. all the computers in the house can connect to the internet at the same time and access eachothers hard drives and i can access xbox live fine with no problems. there is also no lag when playing gtaIV multiplayer with 15 other players.  i hate belkin tech support and i will not pay for another expensive multi plug connector from belkin... ever.
