R4 SD card

I just bought a R4 storage device and a 4gb micro sd card. when i started my DS Lite it did not load up it froze at loading screen on the DS. i have the V1.18 Kernel, but no matter how many times i reinstall it it just keeps freezing at the loading screen

    I have a new R4 card. it sticks on a loading message when in my ds lite. i know the sd card works fine as i have another R4 card that loads o.k. (I got this with a loaded sd).

    do i need to do something to the R4 so it will work?

    i thought that it just needed a loaded sd and it should play.

    Do I have a faulty card?

    got go it ship from hong kong and it has a neverending loading. with or without the sd micro.

    i try to load a 4g in my ds it word with 2g it word with other ds but
    will load on my ds 2g work fine the r4 will work good with one ds but not with my ds

First of all, check if your r4 is original. if it is, then check your micro sd card. if it says micro sdhc, then you should return it and get one that is marked 'micro sd'. then you should go to http://www.mediafire.com/?nmtu2jttkxg and download the following to your r4. if you have downloaded stuff on to it, then format the card. hope it helped you.

R4 version 1 and 2 fine with 1.18 kernal and up to 2gb sd card think you need next version of r4 card and kernal at least 1.19 but 1.21 is avalible....

    You def need to get the right kernal for the specific card you are using there are so many go to www.R4I-SDNC.com, it took me 6 loadings to do it also dont load just the files open them first on yr pc and just load the items in the file i loaded everything in the files, i left the games in the file however

I was told the R4 only takes up to a 2gb card. Mine is fine with a 2gb card and version 1.18

Stuck on Loading Screen This usually indicates that the software kernel on the micro sd memory card has become corrupted. It can also happen if the micro sd memory card is overloaded with games, music and video files etc. The solution is to reinstall the kernel software on the micro sd card and ensure the micro sd memory card is not overloaded. Leave about 25% memory free.
download SDformatter and format the sd card with that, place all the files on there, none in folders..
  • Download the correct software kernel from the manufacturers website
  • Unzip the files using a suitable programme such as Win Zip or 7 Zip.
  • Open the folder containing the unzipped files and copy the 4 files (Moonmemo, Moonshl2, R4iMenu and R4.dat) to the root of the memory card.
  • At this point put the memory card into your R4 card. Start your console and ensure the R4 card is operating correctly.
  • You may have to run an upgrade file at this point

I bought R4 cards for DSlite and 4gmicrosd formatted sd to fat downloaded kernels for R4 loaded games onto sd card put all together all I get in the Dslite is loading...nothing more it will not go any...
Hi denise, amh, could you please specify what r4 model you got? because there are lot of R4 out there, but the original R4 team had stopped producing R4's, all we have mostly today are clones. now some R4 only recognize up to 2GB of sd/micro sd cards, try using 2GB then see if that works..

My ds keeps saying loading when i insert r4 card
Make sure you have the correct kernel loaded onto the card. Also some r4 cards only accept up to a limited amount of gb's. I think mine only can hold up to a 2gb sd micro card. When I first used it I was using a 4gb card and it would stick on the loading screen until I loaded everything onto a 2gb card .... hope this helps

When I put my micro SD card into the R4 card, put it in my ds (original), and turn the power on it detects that I have put the game in but the message "Loading..." stays on the screen - it doesn't actually...
its the software on the micro sd i had the same problem did you get software with it? if not try downloading from r4 website.

I loaded the firmware from v.1.18 but R4 rom not loading...
this happened to me ,had to return r4 and get new one worked first time it seems that there was a lot of duff cards about and your supplier should exchange it .

4G micro SD

I don't have a solution but I have the exact same issue. On my co-workers DS my R4 works like a champ on my daughters R4 it gets stuck @ loading.
