Bought this Chest Freezer from a Rummage Sale. Its a Woods. I think its a 4.3 cu. ft. It has no light. It has no door lock. I got no Owners Manual for it. Can you help me out in getting an Owners Manual? Model # C07BBA J1 Serial # 09141378JJ

Jeremy,

You can put a fridge/freezer in the garage. Be sure that the area is level so you don't warp the case which will cause sealing problems with the gasket. Also, clean the condenser frequently as dust and dirt will reduce efficiency.

I am having the same problem. How long did it take?
I bought mine second hand and think it may be broken. I plugged it in 8 hours ago. I can hear it running but it's not cold yet.

On a chest freezer, frost always accumulates around the top perimeter first because the warmer moist air comes in contact with that area first once the door is opened. More frequent defrosting may be the answer.

    Light not working in GE chest frezer it is larger than the model below, 22 cf, it is 25 years old.
    Check the bulb, check the tabs within the socket, check the door light switch.

    Unit runs continually with gurgling sounds
    defrost fully once a year or more if you notice it frosting up.it should run at minus 18c to 20 c for best results. 0f is fine.gurgling noise is normal (liquid turning to gas before compressor turns it back to liquid).make sure door seals all round and the kids close the door asap after use......also if you portion up food prior to freezing and vacpack it it will last longer.and be easier to store/rotate.
