I have a john deere 3000psi pressure washer with similar problem. Running fine then a puff of smoke and it shut down. I checked the oil and found it full of water. Not only that but since I still had the water turned on, the water was flowing out of the dip stick tube. I'm trying to find a solution online and will pass any information on.

Doesn't start

It sounds like it has jumped time. What year is the car and how many miles. Timing chains can go bad as early as 70,000 miles

There are four possible answers to this problem, if the heater starts normally, runs for a few seconds or minutes and the shuts down but was still running normally at the time of shut down, this could be caused by the photocell, also known as the flame out control. This safety device may be failing, shutting down even though the heater is working normally, check the operation of the photocell. The second cause may be partial fuel filter blockage, the heater is effectively starving itself of fuel, so the flame blows out, hence the puff of smoke, and then shuts down on the safety cut out. Third cause, if this model has a compressor at the rear of the motor, the problem could be low pump pressure, caused by wear or contamination of the carbon blades, this would cause the wrong amount of fuel to be syphoned up, with weak fuel mix the heater may blow itself out and shut down. The fourth cause, perhaps indicated by the puff of white smoke, is contamination of the fuel with water, water will cause the white smoke and also is indecated by white residues or a power like substance on the end plate of the heater which glows red hot when burning.

Overfilled the oil and black smoke came. Can't startt now what i need to do

hi there pauly46 here

remove plug, pull engine over to remove oil from combustion chamber , clean plug,
refit, remove air filter - replace it if its wet with oil / or water damaged and clean backing plate , drain float bowl and check oil in carb, refit bowl and connect water supply to pump - turn on and start engine ( sounds like you hydraulicd the piston in the cylinder )

engine may blow blue / white smoke for a while then settle back

note do not use a sae 30 , use a 20w/50 oil or 10w/40. honda engine with low oil shut down
units on them have a problem with sae 30 oil

cheers hope it helps

White smoke. when it won't start, raw gas comes out of the exhaust GS190 honda Karcher 3000 PSI

Sounds like it's flooded. Close the throttle and open the choke if equipped. Pull it through a few times and then open the throttle a bit.

Honda GC190 engine shuts down on my Karcher 3000 PSI PW

Well would you believe that I have the very same problem. I suspected that the pump was seizing up, so we tried the pump on another unit and it worked fine. On inspection of the motor we found the cam (which also operates the decompression mechanism) was worn out. It's made of hard plastic. It is only about 7 dollars too, so cheap enough to fix. I have mine ordered now and feel pretty confident that that should fix it.

Karcher Power Washer that surges up and down with water pressure.

Before you start it up:
1. Disconnect the high pressure hose 2. Connect the water supply and turn on 3. Make sure water is flowing through the pump
Start the motor, run for about 10 seconds and then turn off.
Turn off the water supply, connect the high pressure hose, turn water back on, start the motor and away you go.

Big puff of white smoke at start up after sitting for several hours.

white smoke is water
blue smoke is oil.
nest time try and smell the white smoke see if it smells sweet?
if it does its antifreeze.
and also black smoke is fuel (like a leaky injector )
hope this helps
