I have an acer aspire 3000 series and when I turn it on the acer logo shows up on the screen, but after that the screen just goes black.

this seems like a no boot / no video kind off issue and mostly is coz of corruptions in softwares or drivers, try booting the computer in safe mode. if it does, then take a data backup. i would not recommend experimenting in this issue as it can crash the computer.

Depending on your version of windows, I would trying starting in safe mode to see if the computer does boot. If it does, then you want to restart again, go to advanced boot options and select "start windows with last known good configuration." Access advanced boot options following the steps at this link. Apparently your Acer cannot find the operating system. As soon as the Acer logo comes up, there should appear in one of the bottom corners "F" & a number should appear. Immediately start pressing that F number (top row of keyboard). This should take you to a boot screen. Scroll down to boot sequence. Hit enter. Make sure boot-up sequence is CD or floppy drive first, second should be HDD, then escape. Restart computer. Should then boot off CD drive. I am assuming you have an operating system (XP, windows, etc.). Let me know if this doesn't work.

You might have a some malicious codes in your system tampering with your os. Try rebooting your laptop in safe mode and run a scan using malwarebytes

It sounds like the Acer logo has been turned off in the bios settings. As soon as you hit the power button, start tapping the F2 key until you see the test appear "entering setup". Once you are in the BIOS, look for the Logo settings as far as being visible during Boot up. I've seen this setting on other systems so I am thinking the Acer should be similiar.

The Acer 3000 series and 3610 series has different set of Parts, Hence Swapping the LCD screen may damage your other 3610 LCD also. Please try to get a replacement for Aspire 3000 LCD.

Ok the issue with that is your hard drive has crashed so you need to get a new one for your laptop.

If your booting to the splash screen ( ACER Logo screen ) then it goes black reboot - access the bios and do a bios hdd test - you mostlily find your hdd has died. Head scrash

OS means operating System and HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive.
When u turn ur system on is it already black or it shows the bootscreen like ACER logo etc. and then goes black.
If thats the case then ur OS has crashed. Try installing new one.
And if its black right from the start then i think it is a hardware failure.
