My shutter is stuck and i sent it to a service centre and they released itand now the shutter is releasing. but when pictures are printed some pictures are half shadowed so i sent it to a Nikon authoirised service centre now they are telling to wait and also they say lens have fungus. i have paid Rs.1500.00 indian rupees. My concern is is these problems can be clearly serviced or not. may kindly answer please.

First reaction is always take out the battery.
Check if the shutter release button is not stuck in a down position. Press and here of her is a little click. After you are sure the shutter release button is not stuck, place the battery and try again. If it starts all over again taking pictures, and you are sure you don't have a ir remote control near bye, then you should contact the nearest Canon service centre.

From your video I can't tell whether the shutter is cocked. Can you crank the film advance lever all the way and then press the shutter release button?

Your second curtain is not releasing the mirror to come down.
This happens with weak 2nd shutter curtain tension.
If the wind lever is stuck and the mirror does not come down then the mirror tension spring came off.

If the lighting is low and shutter speed is set for a long period of time its the function of the camera taking the picture. If it is a malfunction of the shutter take it in for cleaning you might have foriegn material stuck in your shutter mechanism

The manual (pg 112) simply, and unfortunately, states this message "Press shutter release button again. If error persists, consult with Nikon-authorized service representative".

Some questions that might help: have you had the camera in some extreme conditions, damp, sand, etc. Clean the shutter button really well. Maybe use a small air blower and clean in the shutter release creases.

In the end, if the error continues, it will need to be serviced.

The R06 is the buffer indication, not part of the error. It would appear more work is required. Other components may have failed, or the shutter itself may be bad.

I'm afraid this one is not a DIY. Nikon is pricey on repairs, you may fair better checking the repair service search here on Fixya.

The damage may require parts, but maybe not. If I were doing the work, I would charge in the $50-$60 range , plus parts if needed.

Nikon will likely quote you much higher $200+

I had the same problem. I sent my camera to the Nikon Service Center. They fixed it within three days. They actually replaced the whole aperture frame. FREE OF CHARGE AS LONG WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD.
