Maytag Gemini electric double oven: Oven Control pad is not responding to touch - cannot use any oven; display looks fine - no error messages; cooktop is working fine. Any suggestions or repair manual source for this control pad? Thanks.

I unplugged my maytag gemini electric double oven and when I replugged it only the cancel and keep warm buttons for the upper level worked, the lower oven buttons worked, but no lights, also only the 1, 2, and 3 control buttons worked...no time or clock buttons would work, but the time was displayed. After removing the back of the oven to check the control panel, my husband was checking the connections to the control panel when he said one of the wide wires (there are 2 to the right of the control panel) had come off, after reconnecting it we plugged it in and everything was working again. Seems it was just a lose wire. So, before you dish out the money for a control panel, please check all the connections to make sure nothing is loose.

Repair man fixed top oven probe sensor due to a F1-1 error code. Top oven is still giving the same error code. Repairman wants to come back and charge 200.00 bucks again to replace bottom oven sensor.

The electronic control could have a bad touch pad that is causing this. You may need to replace the electronic control itelf. It is expensive almost 400.00 dollars.

My Maytag Gemini oven is displaying an F9-2 error code...I believe this has to do with the upper oven door lock mechanism...anything I can do, or does this require a service call?

F9-2 error code indicates:

  1. Door latch motor failure/jammed. Latch motor switch failure.
  2. Oven control software failure, or component failure(stuck relay).
  3. Wiring problem.
  • Press the clear key.
  • If the Clear key does not eliminate the problem, turn off the power to the range for 30 seconds, then turn the power back on.
  • It is most likely to have a failed or misaligned door lock switch.

F2 - E6 Cancel key drive line open 1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

Maytag gemini oven tough controls won't work --

Check the door switch and the temperature probe. If they are ok, then the problem is likely in the control board. These boards can be rebuilt.
