The condenser fan is very quiet so you may not hear it . remove the lower rear back panel and check whether the compressor and or fan is running . Also check if the back wall of the freezer has frost on it or if the evaporator fan in the freezer is running.

Fridge and freezer suddenly not working only 1.5 yrs old

I guess the culprit in this case is the compressor.. Do you hear a sound when you are near the refrigirator.. it will be like a fan rotating at a high speed...

Compressor running continuously. Hearing surging sound. Both fridge & freezer not cooling.

there may be a blockage in the evaporator tube in the fridge sections and the only way to establish what the fault is will be to have fridge technician run test on it

if u can hear the compressor going , then dont worry about fixing it , it would need to be regased , not worth it too old, if u cant hear the compressor going then it wud be a cheap fix wud need a new thermostat or a defrost timer

Fridge acts like compressor is not coming on - Maytag wide by side - seven yrs. old

Pull the refrig out and remove the back panel . You should see the compressor and the cooling fan ( condenser fan ) . If the fan isn't working , it needs to be replaced . If the compressor isn't running or starts then cuts off , then the box plugged onto the side of the compressor , with 3 wires going to it ( overload/relay ) needs to be replaced .

Unit runs and you can hear the compressor come on but it is not pulling any moisture out of the air

if it seems to be running normally except no cooling , is the fan in the house running????...Is the house Cold and damp???.If there is no cooling and you know that the compressor and everything else appears to be normal then you likely have a Refrigerant leak and that will cause no cooling.....Usually a very expensive repair...if your unit is 5-10+ yrs old you likely need a new "A" coil.

I have a ARB2205CS that is 6.5 yrs old. It stopped

No, the relay was what caused the buzz click but i think a bad compressor could be responsible for blowing the relays out. If you had a bad defrost timer that was stuck in defrost thus compressor not running you would not get the buzz click..your comressor would also be cold.

Stopped cooling -fisher and paykel fridge

ok you say the compressor sounds right?? there's probably a defective relay overload / start cap combination defective. if you go behind the the fridge and remove a small cover you will see the compressor with power disconnected look for frayed or burnt wires take the compressor cover off and you will see the wires just follow the 3 wires. you can buy a replacement relay/overload capacitor combination all you have to do is wire it any additional questions you can e-mail me at [email protected]

have a nice day

Fan runs but no cool air on both freezer side and cold side

If you hear the compressor try to start then click off, you probably have a bad compressor or a bad relay. If it is less than 5 yrs old the compressor is still covered by warranty and will be replaced free of charge. The relay is only covered for a year. With it being a Maytag, I bet it is compressor. There have been a few models with control board problems that have caused this symptom, but that's not likely to be your problem.
