My XU2100 XTN series 2 Way radio is not working. Not receiving or sending transmissions to the other two radios. It is fully charged. It does not make an audible "beep" when you turn it on. Is this a speaker issue or a frequency issue?

Your radio is likely in need of repair. Flat rate repair for this model usually runs around $69. The fact it does not give you the initialization beep indicates it is more than a frequency problem. Then coupled with you do not have transmit or receive, this sounds like you have more of a problem than a bad speaker.

A few things to check before sending it for repair would be:
1) Swap the battery with a known good unit to see if your battery is bad/low and doesn't have enough power to function the radio fully.
2) Check your frequency and code to see if it matches your other units. This is in the upper right corner of the screen shortly after turning the radio on.
3) Check your mic opening in the grill of the radio to be certain it is not covered or free from debris.

If these any of these three items do not solve the problem, you should send your radio for repair.

Best regards.

How do I program the RDU2020 radio to work withmy XU2100 ?

Here is a link to the RDX series page at Motorola, in the lower right corner there is a link to the user guide for your RDU2020 radio. In the user guide there is a very good explanation of matching the XU2100 to the RDU2020. The RDU radio was the next model in line after the XU2100 and was designed to work with it. http://www.motorolasolutions.com/US-EN/Business+Product+and+Services/Two-way+Radios/On-site+Business+Radios/Discontinued/RDU2020_US-EN

Xtn series won't transmit through remote microphone

Here are a handful of problems you might be having:

1) Be certain the radio is turned OFF when plugging in an audio device.
2) Be certain the remote mic is plugged all the way in, until you feel a slight click.
3) Your accessory jack could be wobbled or worn from plugging and unplugging chargers/audio devices. If so, the radio would need repair.
4) Your remote mic is not working. Try it on another unit to confirm.
5) Or the remote mic is not the one designed to go with the XTN radio.

THE OFF AND ON KNOB IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY ON XTN RADIO, HOW DO I FIX?

The on/off/volume potentiometer is a common failure part on most radios, including the XTN. The only solution is to have the radio repaired. Typically this style unit can be repaired for $69 flat rate.

Sidenote: On the XTN it is best, when turning on the radio, to turn the knob to at least 50% volume before turning it back to your desired setting. This helps with the initialization of the radio. Also, it is best not to run this style of radio at full volume, as it can cause other receive issues down the line.

Can i get my xtn xu2100 motorola to communicare with my talkabout 250

Sorry, but the answer is NO. The two radios do not share any frequencies. Here are links to the user guides where you can see a list of the frequencies:

I BUY 2 WAY RADIOS MOTOROLA XU2100 OFTEN BUT LATELY THEY GET BURNED WHEN THEY ARE CHARGIN AFTER THE CHARGE I TURN THEM ON THE DISPLAY SHOWS THE CHANNEL BUT THEN IT FADES AWAY AND GETS REAL HOT THEN IT...

1) Clean all your battery contacts with a pencil eraser. This includes the contacts on the charger (if a drop-in style), battery and the radio.

2) Check your battery date code. It is a 4 digit number on the white portion of your battery. The first two numbers are the year, followed by the week of the year. (Example: 0946 would be 2009 the 46th week.) Your battery pack should be less than 2 years old to work correctly.

3) Check to see you are using the correct charger. The XTN style charger should have a white label on the cord indicating it is for the XTN radio.

You most likely have batteries which are failing or shorted out. It would be advisable to remove them from the radio and replace them with new batteries. Continued charging of shorted/bad batteries will damage your radio.

Best regards.
