Loaded 3D Embroidery software on computer but will not recognize the dongle plugged in to the usb port. Drivers for dongle did not automatically load, went online to find a HASP file (driver I think) and downloaded that. computer recognizes new hardware, but software does not recognize the dongle.

It is not the computer that is not recognizing the dongle it is the software. I cannot even open the software now, it is stating that no HASP security file found.

downloading an update for the Vista things sounds great, except the website that was given will not open or require "Employees" to sign in to download the update. Any other suggestions as to where to go to get a Vista dongle update?

  • rdea64pny Jul 01, 2008

Anyone know where to go to download the latest version of 3dEmbroidery Software?

  • S Gros Nov 22, 2020

Hi rdea64pny, you most likely have a new PC with windows 10 by now. Like me I have and the expensive 3D embroidery software and windows 10 would not recognize the dongle. I've searched the internet for days now, and finely found the driver that will work. I'm posting the link for the driver, it's GREAT! you not only get the driver but also answers to other issues that you may run into installing it. I have no issues, once I installed the driver IT WORKED. I hope this will help you, please pass it along to others who may need the updated driver for windows 10 since Husqvarna no longer supports the older software. I'm thrilled that I have my 3D embroidery software working again. And want to share this information to everyone who can use it.
You may need to copy and paste into your browser.

The 3D Embroidery System is not designed to operate on Windows Vista. This is also true for earlier embroidery software. The compatible operating systems are stated on the product boxes. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that the 3D Embroidery System, or previous software, will function correctly on Windows Vista.

Hi,
Yes this is a known issue with Vista. First question, dya guys have admin access on that PC ?Did you ever try using a dift platform such us XP?  If yes and that didnt help.. lets move on . Quickest and best option to deal with this is try to uninstall everything about that software restart your PC and try to reinstall it back without any programs running on the background including firewall and anti-virus etc. If that doesnt help try a dift USB port and STILL wont work try installing it on SAFE MODE and check what happens.
If everything fails, try to use XP and inthat way youl isolate clearly what the problem is.
Easy huh? thats Vista. ...
Just leme know if you may have additional questions re my post
Cheers

Found this possible solution elsewhere on the net:

If you have upgraded your computer to Microsoft Vista operating system or are using Vista anyways, and are experiencing problems with your 3D software, you should first upgrade your dongle driver:

  1. Go to the Web site for the dongle manufacturer (Aladdin)
  2. Download the HASP HL Device Driver GUI Installation file (first one in the table) and save it to your computer. Please note the Save-in location. We recommend you save this file on the desktop.
  3. Extract the saved file (HASP_driver_setup.zip) by double clicking on it. Note the location you are extracting to.
  4. Make sure your dongle is NOT attached to your computer and run the extracted file (HASPdriversetup.exe)
  5. Reboot your computer.
  6. Plug your dongle in and open the 3D Embroidery software.
  7. Husqvarna has also provided 2 Frequently Asked Questions regarding Vista and your software:
Hope that helps!!

First go to the control panel and then to add/remove programs.
Next find the software and remove/uninstall it
next reboot the computer
next re-install the software

Since you got the dongle working after the software was already installed, it should work better now with a fresh install.

You may even need to re-boot the computer after re-installing the software also.

I think this one will enlighten you:

The 3D Embroidery System is not designed to operate on Windows Vista. This is also true for earlier embroidery software. The compatible operating systems are stated on the product boxes. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that the 3D Embroidery System, or previous software, will function correctly on Windows Vista.

However, it is possible to install 3D Embroidery System software on Windows Vista. To get your dongle working, after installing your 3D Embroidery System software, see FAQ #H013.

There are no other adjustments to the 3D Embroidery System in respect of Windows? Vista. The operation of the Designer SE, Designer I and Parallel Reader/Writer unit should not be affected, apart from driver installation. You may need to answer some security questions in Windows Vista while installing the hardware drivers, as the drivers were designed for previous operating systems.

A workaround is necessary when using the USB Reader/Writer and d-Card Reader/Writer. Each time you use either the USB Reader/Writer or d-Card Reader/Writer to read a card, write a card or send an embroidery with Send 1 or Send 2, you must disconnect and reconnect the unit before using it again to read, write or send.

Note that in due course, a new solution will be available for using the USB Reader/Writer and d-Card Reader/Writer with Windows Vista. If you do not qualify for free upgrades, there may be a handling fee for providing the CD containing the solution as it will not be part of the 3D Embroidery System.

FAQ#H013 Error “No dongle attached. Cannot open program” when starting my 3D software on Windows Vista, even though my dongle is inserted.

After you have installed the 3D Embroidery System software on a Windows Vista computer, download and save the 3D Embroidery Vista Dongle Update. After saving the file on your computer, double-click the file to install the dongle update.

Note: If the following User Account Control message appears when installing the update: “An unidentified program wants access to your computer”, click the ‘Allow’ option to continue.

Most likely the dongle is not compatible with you computer. What kind of computer is it. What operating system are you running.
Thank you,

1st try another usb port
2nd uninstall the software and plug the device in only after you have reinstalled the software and you are asked to plug it in. If it doesn't ask then install the software first and try again.

You can also right click on my computer and select manage.
then on the left side of the window select device manager, unplug and plug back the usb dongle and see if any devices appear or disappear also note any yellow ! marks. you may have to press the scan for new hardware button or right click on the window to scan for hardware changes.

How can I send designs from my PC to my Toyota 830 embroidery machine when my Pantograms software/hardware is no longer working?

Some of the Pantograms software programs require a USB dongle connected to the computer. However, the driver for this dongle has to be installed before you install the software or connect the dongle. I suspect you may not have installed the driver or the dongle is missing.

Assuming that the dongle is connected:
Close your embroidery software program and all of the Pantograms software, including the Network C software, on your computer and remove the USB device. Put the software install CD into your machine's optical drive. (If your new machine doesn't have an optical drive, get a USB optical drive or copy the files from the CD to a 1GB+ USB flash drive at another computer with an optical drive.) If Windows XP starts the autorun routine for the CD, click Exit. Then double-left click on My Computer to launch File Explorer. Go to the CD drive (or USB drive if you used the work-around) and double-click on it. Open the Rainbow Drivers folder and then open the XP folder. Double click on the program: setup.exe . Choose Complete install as the program executes. Then close File Explorer when the install is done. Now insert the USB dongle and follow the on-screen message about New Hardware found to install the Rainbow driver from C: .

If you do not see the New Hardware found message, try putting the dongle into a different USB port. (Make sure to avoid USB hubs - they can add to USB device issues.) If the dongle doesn't work at any port, you may need to use a different method. There is a flash reader available for connecting a USB flash drive to the Toyota 830 here: http://www.plrelectronics.com/lab/usb_reader.php . (Scroll down to the Toyota machine section. This isn't cheap but it is cheaper than some of the newer embroidery software packages.)

I hope this helps.

I just bought a used Designer 1 ESS machine and I do not know how to use the dongle

You don't need a dongle for the sewing machine. You either have a dongle for the computer embroidery software in which case it goes in your computer when you've installed the software, or you have a USB stick that has the Husqvarna designs on it.

What colour is it? The USB sticks are blue, the 3D software dongles are red. Only problem is, I think the 4D software dongles are blue too!! My Husqvarna Designer 1 USB embroidery stick (blue) has "USB Embroidery Stick" written on it - have a look for that. The dongle will have Hasp or something like that written on it.

If you are pretty sure it is a USB stick, put it in your machine and turn it on. Then touch the disk/stick icon on the lower right hand side of the screen. Your machine should start to read the stick and you will get a pop-up menu where you can choose from the folders on the stick. If you don't, go into the PROG screen. Touch MENU, touch the disk/stick icon and see if the embroidery files on the stick come up then. Each machine came with a set of designs called Embroidery Disk 100 and three alphabets - Palace Script, Kaligraphia and Clarendon. These should all be on the USB stick.

In the event that it is a dongle you have, but not the software, you need to contact the person from whom you purchased the machine.

You can download the Husqvarna designs from the Husqvarna website, but you will need a Husqvarna formatted USB stick to do this. Therefore, you do need software on your computer. There are some low-cost alternatives to the Husqvarna software - Embird and Sew What come to mind. However, a Husqvarna program called 3D Disk Manager USB came with every USB Designer 1 machine, so you should have got that when you purchased the machine. This will be enough for you to load designs from the HV website and from other websites where you purchase designs.

My laptop which has windows 7 on it does not recognize mmy dongle

there is an update for windows 7 and dongles at the husqvarna viking website.

From Husqvarna Viking website -

When installing the 4D Embroidery System onto Windows 7 computers, the dongle drivers may not initially work correctly, as the 4D Embroidery System installs a set of dongle drivers which were created before Windows 7.
Download and install the latest dongle drivers prior to installing the 4D Embroidery System. Failure to do this, may result in the "Dongle driver not found (E0009)" when you try to open the 4D modules.
Please follow the steps below to install the latest dongle drivers BEFORE installing the 4D Embroidery System
  1. Download and install the latest Dongle Drivers.
  2. Insert your 4D Dongle.
  3. Install your 4D Embroidery System software (and all updates).
  4. Open your 4D Embroidery System software to confirm that your dongle is working correctly.
If you installed the 4D Embroidery System software before installing the latest dongle drivers and if you experience problems such as the error message "Unable to start hasplms service..."; download and install the latest Dongle Drivers.

I have a Husqvarna 1250/Viking 1+ that my aunt recently gave me when she upgraded machines. I have installed the Customizing 95 (version 1.31) software on my laptop and it works fine. However, I can not...

1. Did the software come with a dongle? This is a "key" that looks like a memory stick, that is actually a copyright protection device. You cannot access the program without it. To get the program to recognize it. plug it into a free USB Port, then power up your computer. It will read the dongle as a new device and install it on your computer. Always make sure the dongle is plugged into the same USB port as when its installation.

2. Check the operating system compatibility of your embroidery software and your computer.

What is your computer's OS? If you have Vista, it will not read Win95-XP. In that case, you may need to find a used computer to dedicate to your embroidery and install Win 98. I have XP 2000 and it reads all the Win programs back through 95.

My Husqvarna Rose/3D Embroidery Studio, will not operate with the Vista program. It will run on XP, because XP is backward compatible to previous Windows programs.

If this is the problem, you can still purchase older Windows programs very affordably. Before installing it on your hard drive, I would get expert instructions from a professional, who would back up your hard drive. I've also heard of people partitioning their hard drives, so that they could use more than one operating system.

(This is MUCH CHEAPER than purchasing a new machine and all the software, etc to go with.)

Just a note: The small notebooks they've come out with, do not have the proper drive to run your embroidery program.

3. If you have the reader'writer that came with the machine and no serial port on your computer or printer, you can take the box to your local Radio Shack or computer repair, where you can get an adapter with a serial plug on one end and a USB plug on the other, or get the "Ultimate Box Plus". The adapter is cheaper.

One, or all, of these little tidbits may fit your problem.

Hope this helps.

Can't get computer and embroidery machine to connect via USB. Computer doesn't recognize embroidery machine. (Husqvarna Designer Diamond) I also have a new DELL laptop.

If your using Windows Vista, you have to have the multi user account in the off postioin. Also if you had 3D embroidery software and you upgraded to 4D software you have to be sure to uninstall the 32 bit drivers from the 3d for the 4d to work properly.

You do have to install the communication software that came with the diamond also. It won't communicate through the 3d or 4d only.

What Version of VIP customizing is for Designer 1 USB stick

When you purchase the Husqvarna Viking software it comes with a code key called a "Dongle". It plugs into a usb port and "unlocks" the software. You can't just load the software and have it work without the dongle and you cannot just purchase a dongle. That software is about 3 versions old and is not being supported anymore by Viking. Their new software starts at $400 and is called 4D embroidery. Their web site shows what it can do.
