You will have to contact cox for that information. I do not know where you are so I do not know the number. Cox can change your password or reset it for you. Been there, had the same problem myself one time.

Did my answer solve your problem?

I was given a computer with windows xp professional the username always says exec but i dont know the password. how can i get into it?

Hi Ashley,

There is one way... SAFE MODE! (Got to love Safe Mode)

http://www.davidtan.org/hacking-cracking-windows-xp-login-password/

Hacking Windows XP Login Password 1. Restart your computer and keep pressing F8.
2. From the menu, select boot in safe mode with command prompt.
3. once you're at the command prompt, type "net users" (without quotes)
4. You will see a list of usernames. Pick the username that you are using and type "net users username *" (without quotes, replace username with a real username from that username list)
5. You will be asked to enter a new password and a second reconfirmation.
6. Press enter and you will be told that your username password has been changed successfully.

Emails no longer come to Outlook but to internet provider (Cox)

Hi Martha,

When you logged in to webmail did it ask you to change your password? Does a box popup in Outlook asking you to change your password as soon as it opens?

If it does just enter your new password in the outlook window.

username: yourcoxusername
pass: your new webmail password

I can receive but not send e-mail using cox.net from my blackjack II.

Check your server settings.
Your Incoming server should be pop.xxx.cox.net
Your outgoing server should be smtp.xxx.cox.net.

The "xxx" is dependent upon the Cox region in which your email account is based.

For example, I am in VA so my incoming server is pop.east.cox.net. Check your Cox account for the exact settings

Well i had just bought a lynksys router from my friend with no software cd so right now i am trying to download the software online so when i switch my cox modem with the linksys modem i want the software...

You should be able to get any software that you need from LinkSys.com but I have a couple of quick questions first:

1. Is the LinkSys unit you just purchased a router or modem?

If the unit is a router, you are still going to need a Cox compatible modem. If the unit is a modem, you will still need a router to complete the network setup unless LinkSys makes a combination cable router/modem, and I haven't been able to research one.

2. If it is a modem, is it a cable modem and, if it is, is it Cox compatible?

According to the Cox Web Site, the only models of LinkSys modems that are currently compatible with the Cox High Speed Cable Internet Service are:

BEFCMU10 v3
BEFCMU10 v4
WCG200
WCG200 v2
CM100

In this particular case, you may need to contact LinkSys and/or your Internet Service Provider. In most cases, they will not only tell you exactly what type of equipment you need, they will also talk you through setting up the network once you have the equipment - usually at no charge.

Forgot my password

RESET PASSWORD FOR ANY USERNAME
  1. Reboot the computer
  2. Right after the bios is finished, hit F8 (or F2,10,12)
  3. Select ‘Safe mode’ or ‘Safe mode with networking support’
  4. Windows will boot up to the logon screen. Click administrator, 9/10 there is no password.
  5. Do, Start->Run->type ‘command’
  6. At the prompt, type ‘net user’ which will display a list of usernames. Find the one you are looking for, try ‘net user username’ for them all. Type ‘net user /HELP’ for more info.
  7. To reset the password type ‘net user username *’ where username is the username you want to reset.
  8. For no password, leave blank.
  9. Now, reboot and you can login as that user.
