How do i get a report of the fax i sent? - HP OfficeJet J4580 All-In-One Laser Printer

the sent report can be disabled at FAX SETUP.press menu and scroll to enter fax setup scroll to display report enter here to enable or disable the report. the sent report only display for short time after sending the fax. also you can take a print of journalreport.

most printer in the market has the same standard setting for the fax.
u can set the report many types for many user's purposes, some people want to save paper, save ink/toner, so they dont need report if the fax is sent but only print report if the fax is not good(NG or not sent)

it can be set to:
report off--means report will be print out only if the fax is NG
report off+image--means report will be print out if the fax is NG + the image of the page that is not sent(so we know which page is not sent through the image)
report on+image-- every fax activities( sent or not sent) will be reported, which is not recommended
etc....

how to set is depends on your printer, just go to the menu "FAX" and look inside the menu.

There is a transmit report which can be auto printed for every fax message sent out. Go to menu, under the fax sub-menu, turn on the transmit report (under report).

Normally if i fax is sent, it will just give a message as Fax sent or it wont give any error.
But if you want to get a confirmation whether the fax is sent or not, you can print a fax confirmation page on ever fax sent or received or both.

Press the SETUP button ( menu )
Scroll till you find Print Report - Press OK
Scroll till you find Automatic Reports Setup - Press OK
Choose Send Only - Press ok

Tip If you choose On Fax Send or Send & Receive, and scan your fax to send from memory, you can include an image of the first page of the fax on the Fax Sent Confirmation report. Press Setup, press 2, and then press 2 again. Select On from the Image on Fax Send Report menu.

You can configure your HP all-in-one so that it automatically prints error and confirmation reports. If you need printed confirmation each time a fax is sent, follow these instructions before sending any faxes and select Send Only. To set automated report options from the control panel Press Setup. Press 2, and then press 1. This selects Print Report and then selects Fax Report Setup. Press to scroll through the following report types: Every Error: prints whenever there is any kind of fax error (default). Send Error: prints whenever there is a transmission error. Receive Error: prints whenever there is a receiving error. Every Fax: confirms every time a fax is sent or received. Send Only: prints every time a fax is sent indicating whether the fax was successfully sent or not. Off: does not print any error or confirmation reports. Press OK to select the report.

To print the transmission report:

1. Press the [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax mode screen.
2. Touch [FAX Menu].
3. Touch [TX Report] on the Set 1 tab.

4. Select how to output the report, and then touch [Enter].
– Default: The transmission report is printed according to the previously specified method.
– ON: The transmission report is printed with each transmission.
– If TX Fails: The transmission report is printed only if the fax could not be sent.
– OFF: The transmission report is not printed, regardless of the transmission result.
