Hi,

You stated that it loads that OS on the other computer. Is this by taking out the hard drive and putting into another PC? If it is, then I would have thought there is h/w issue elsewhere in your PC...

Usually if you have a message saying that it could not load windows properly, it is an OS issue which I would recommend you fix by using your emachines recovery disks.

Hope that helps

If you put in a HDD from your other pc, it will probably have drivers setup that don't work with the Emachine and therefore stop windows from loading. However, if you have a look at the STOP message, it may say something about a memory error. It could therefore also be a RAM issue that causes this error.

The best thing to do would be to get a blank HDD and check it is detected in the BIOS. Go through the motions of installing Windows - if it fails, chances are that some other hardware has failed. Poss RAM/ Motherboard etc

I cannot get the Dell PowerEdge 840 to recongize and of my HDD in the Raid array.. Trying to install the OS but tells my on HDD is detected

Then you need to get into the BIOS of the PERC RAID controller and inspect the state of the physical/logical volumes. Reboot the machine and watch for the prompt after the PERC5/6 RAID controller loads it's BIOS.

Considering this a null issue given the age, though...

I have a dell 9300 that loads bios fine but wont load os even after a complete reinstall? Diag runs threw just fine? it loads to safe mode or normal or bootlog. but then upon entering any option bios...

You might want to play with the BIOS options on the hard drive. If it shows AHCI change it to SCSI then vice versa if the are other options given.
If it still doesn't work, try moving the HDD to a diferent SATA port to check if the OS will load.
If not, it's a possible problem with the HDD.

Let me know what happens next.

Hope this helps!

When i press the power button my computer turns on and after the dell loading screen it freezes completely if im fast enough i can press F2 F12 and even go to Safe mode screen but none of the options work...

his could be caused by a couple of problems but you are going to need access to a second computer to determine the problem.

1) You have a disk that is failing and it has had an error. Got to the disk makers site and down load their diagnostic program and check the disk. This is a stand alone CD so you don't need to boot into the OS.

Another program that can temporarily fix errors is http://www.dposoft.net/ This program will stop after fixing the first error unless you buy it. Again, this is a stand alone.

If it is a disk error, you need to quickly get your data off and install a new disk.

Don't have a second computer? then you need to take it to a local computer store where they can remove the disk, install it in a desktop and check it for errors.

2) This could be a virus, but I think #1 is your problem. TrendMicro.com has a free online virus scan if you can install the disk in a second computer.

Controller MSI K8N Neo4 does not work

SHUT DOWN COMPUTER AND CLEAR CMOS BY RESETTING JUMPER ON MOTHERBOARD AND THEN RETURN JUMPER TO NORMAL POSITION OR USE RESET BUTTON. UNPLUG ALL HDD SATA CONNECTORS FROM HDD. BOOT COMPUTER TO BIOS. MAKE SURE ENABLE ALL SATA IS ENABLED, PRESS F10 AND EXIT.YOU WANT TO SHUT DOWN AGAIN. NOW REATTACH SATA HDD AND CONNECTORS AND BOOT TO BIOS AGAIN. NOW HIT F10 AND LET COMPUTER RESTART AND LOAD INTO THE OS. LOGON AND CHECK DEVICE MANAGER..SHOULD BE THERE. IF NOT CHECK MOTHER BOARD WEB SITE FOR BIOS UPDATE. IF BIOS UPDATE DOESN'T DO THE TRICK, SHUT DOWN AND DISCONNECT THE IDE DRIVE, UNLESS IT CONTAINS YOUR OS. TRY BOOTING TO BIOS AND CHANGE ORDER OF 1ST BOOT OPTIONS, HIT F10 AND EXIT AND ALLOW COMPUTER TO BOOT TO OS, THEN LOGON, GO TO DEVICE MANAGER AND REMOVE IDE AND RESTART, ONLY IF THIS HDD DOES NOT CONTAIN OS. YOU SHOULD BE FINE AFTER THIS, OR INSTALL YOUR OS ON THE SATA HDD.

I have a Maxtor one touch 2 external hard drive,serial#2dd10020,worked fine on Windows XP,I'am now using it on Windows 7,it shows up in computer as drive Z,I cannot unlock it to get to my files, any help...

ok for one your computer no matter what OS you are using stores no drive letter , a drive letter is only given in the order as it is
installed on your system for example if you use 2 internal HDD
and one external HDD your computers C: drive will be the master
the F: will be the slave and the external will be G: , now if you have changed the order of the drives from your last OS then it
will conflict to the last drive letter given , your unit will know
what letter it was given so it must be in the same location for
the new OS , there is also the possibility that Windows 7 doesn't
support the driver for that unit , you can try hooking it up to
another computer retrieving your data , then hooking it back
up to windows 7 run its software , then installing the data back
into your HDD

My acer 5630 laptop does not boot up

Try reinstalling the OS with your restore disks. It might be that you have HDD failure in which case you would need to replace the HDD.

Wont load

It is on your os problem. Insert your OS installer. You don't have to install a fresh copy but you can repair your previous OS installation. Make sure you have set your boot sequence to CD, floppy and last HDD. You can now reinstall your drivers after doing that.
