You should use the 123scan program from symbol to set up your rules it makes it easy
https://docs.symbol.com/downloads/Motorola_123Scan2_(32bit)_v3.00.0011.exe
You need to scan some of the bar codes found on the manual.
Find the product reference manual -usually found on the cd with the scanner or download from motorola site - and in chapter "symbologies" scan "ENABLE CODE128" barcode.
To have prefix when a code is scanned, scan "SCAN OPTIONS" then " then "ENTER"
Last set the preffix value by scanning "SCAN PREFFIX" then four digits that correspond to the character you want to use as preffix.
If you need more than one character for preffix then you will need the Advanced formatting manual, which ican be downloaded from motorola. In this case you need to create a "rule".
Let me know if you need further assistance

Thanks - I tried to do this by using AIM Code indentifiers(C 1) and I´m nearly there, but instead of returning ]C1 barcode it returns ¨C1 barcode - how do I solve this problem?
