The freezer should be frost free.
The freezer will frost up and block the vent so that the cold air cannot be blown into the fridge to cool the fridge.
There is no lights on to show the temperture of the freezer.

When a (frost-free) freezer is frosted, it is either not closing/closed properly - allowing (outside) air to get in ... or, there is a "leak" (in the freezer) allowing (moist) air to get into that chamber, and/or, the "fan" (system) that circulates/removes (moist) air from the freezer is not working properly or the "vents" are blocked.
Check the freezer door "closing" possibility first ... and if it's not the case, (get a technician/repair person to) check out the freezer circulation system.
We had the same problem with our refrigerator just yesterday. Defrosting (even tho frost-free) cleared up the airflow problem-- If it's frost-free, when it defrosts enough to allow air flow, the automatic defrost can take over. Cause was stored food blocking the vent between the freezer and lower part of fridge.
Your frig has the classic symptoms of a frig with a clogged or blocked vent between the freezer section and the refrigerated section. This clog can occur due to (a) stuff in the freezer blocking the vent, or (b) ice in the freezer blocking the vent, or (c) both of the above.
The way a refrigerator works is it cools the freezer, and the warmest air in the freezer is vented out to the refrigerator section. If this vent is blocked (and everything else is working), your refrigerator just became a eye-level small freezer atop a well-insulated section of dangerously warm food.
Classic symptom of: the connection passageway between the freezer and the fridge compartment has closed off - usually due to ice buildup - or something clogging/blocking the passageway. Your Refrigerator works by releasing cold air into only the freezer, then this cold air passes thru a passageway into the fridge compartment to cold (but not freeze) the fridge compartment contents. If this passageway is blocked, then just the freezer works, and cold air never makes it into the fridge compartment. In the old days, you'd be told to defrost your freezer, since the blockage was ALWAYS caused by frost buildup. Today, we have frost-free freezers, and your freezer may simply have too much stuff inside - there has to be some room to allow some air flow around items in the freezer, and whichever item is blocking the air passage to the fridge compartment - just move it away from the passageway opening.
Air from the freezer is blown into the fridge by a fan, some new type frigs have electronic controls that open and close a vent to frig. the older ones have two vents in the frig from the freezer and when covered with frost or ice the air will not reach the frig. check for ice or just defrost the freezer if there is ice or frost, also check for food or plastic over vents in freezer. Also check that the freezer fan is running as these sometimes become blocked or defective motor.
Is there any ice/snow whatsoever built-up on the rear panel of the freezer ????(very important to know this). If so, you have a problem with the frost free part of your fridge, causing it to ice-up, and blocking the air flow to the fridge section.
You have two vents between the freezer and fridge. The one the cold air from the freezer comes through(blown by the fan) and the other vent is a return vent back to the freezer. On a side/side they're at the top and bottom. It sounds like the bottom one may be blocked by food or frosted closed by ice.
Hi: The fact that it still makes ice tells me the freezer is a zero degrees. When you said condensation in the freezer did you mean frost? If your defrost heater fails it will cause the frost free freezer to build up frost. The frost will build up and block the vent that supplies the cold air to the fresh food. The defrost heater is behind the metal wall at the back of the freezer, at the very bottom. A glass tube with a metal coil in it. The coil can break and stop the defrosting. Replace that. Use a hair dryer to melt the frost from behind the panel. All of it top to bottom. You need to remove all the frost to free up the airways. I hope this helps, Jeff
If all else fails I would completely defrosted the unit.If there is any blockage this will open up all the tubes.Unplug it open the doors put pans of hot water in the freezer to speed up the process.
Make sure your fan is still working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refridgerater may be blocked. With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open 12 to 24 hrs this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck. Len West
The most common problem with refrigerators not cooling when the freezer cooling is the fan which supplies cold air to the freezer. Not easy to get to in most cases. Another problem is the vent to the fridge part is blocked or not operating with the adjustment control.
