Replacing that motor is a very difficult process to get correct. It’s not just a swap out. You should absolutely have a professional do it.

SOURCE: Hi! i have a life fitness 9500HR treadmill and it

Unplug the treadmill . Remove front cover. On the right hand side if you are facing the front - in the siderail is a white switch that tells the treadmill it is all the way down. Check that it is in place and clean.
If you plug the treadmill in.{Do not touch any thing in the motor compartment} When you press start it should go all the way down [home] to contact the switch. You can also see the lit motor turn at this time before the belt will move it must be all the way down.

Because you are hearing the lift motor making a noise, it sounds like the gears in the motor are bad. The fix is to replace the lift motor.

Incline won't work on Proform 400s Treadmill

If you've already replaced the lift motor on your Proform 400s Treadmill and the incline still won't work properly, there may be other underlying issues that need to be addressed. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the wiring: Ensure that all the wiring connections related to the incline mechanism are secure and properly connected. Loose or damaged wiring can cause issues with the incline functionality.
Inspect the incline motor and gears: Examine the incline motor and gears for any signs of damage, misalignment, or obstruction. Ensure that the gears are engaging properly and that there are no obstructions preventing the incline from moving up and down smoothly.
Reset the treadmill: Perform a full system reset on your treadmill. This can often resolve minor software glitches or issues that may be affecting the incline function. Consult your treadmill's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
Contact customer support: If you have followed the above steps and the issue persists, it is recommended to reach out to the customer support of Proform or the retailer from whom you purchased the treadmill. They should be able to provide further troubleshooting guidance or arrange for professional repair assistance if needed.
Remember to exercise caution when working with electrical components or performing any repairs on your treadmill. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it is advisable to seek assistance from a qualified technician or the manufacturer's customer support to ensure proper diagnosis and resolution of the issue.

Horizon Elite 5.3 treadmill blows JP2 fuse. Incline does not work, all other functions work even with fuse blown. Does not blow if I disconnect incline motor.

Great work! Another great point for treadmill servicers! Please be aware....inside a treadmill lift motor, there is a small potentiometer or pot, that watches the "throw" or position of the lift screw, which relates to the treadmill incline. These lift motors have a sheath or "nut" on the screw that MUST be set properly at the ZERO degree mark of the deck, for proper operation from zero elevation to 12% or whatever it's uppermost incline is. This must be assembled correctly, or like in this case, that motor begins to "pinch" at one end of it's "throw" and the current will rise in the winding and blow a fuse, saving the lift from burning up. Nice job troubleshooting Thad!

We have Lifefitness 9500HR Treadmill. I am getting a Bad Controller Error. We have two 9500HR models. I swapped out Controller, with working 9500HR and still get Error. Keeps going into Notify Maintenance....

I would suggest swapping the consoles to see if the problem follows. If this does not help you figure it out, you are more than likely looking at a wiring issue.

Unit will not start. it does work in maintenance mode. All fuctions work in the maintenance mold. When using the quick start or other setting to start workout, the unit does not start. " Please Wait " is...

Get back into System test hit enter it will automatically to a check once completed. Then go to Lift motor module Go to manual incline and go to maximum incline then to 0 incline then get out of system test unplug unit for about 30 seconds. Then plug unit in if this does not work the limit or home switch may be the culprit
