Hi icky2449,

The error 320 and 330 while performing the System Recovery using the Recovery Discs indicates the issue with the Recovery Discs or the Optical Drive. However, the Computer comes with the Recovery Partition present in the hidden partition of the Hard Drive. As the System Recovery process is not working using the Recovery Discs, you can use the Recovery Partition for the System Recovery.

To access the Recovery Partition, please restart the Computer and press the F10 Key. This will take you to the Edit Boot Options screen. At the Edti Boot Options screen, press the Enter Key. This will launch the VAIO Recovery Center. In the VAIO Recovery Center, you can select the "Restore C: Drive" to restore the Computer to the factory settings. (Selecting the Restore C: Drive option will erase all the User data in the Computer and restore it back to the factory settings.)

The Restore Complete System option can only be performed using the Recovery Discs. After performing the System Recovery using the Recovery Partition, you can create new Recovery Discs.

Good Luck!

Please post back if you have any questions or require further assistance.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I had the same error messages come up on my screen and your proposed solution did not seem to work. It just resulted in the same error messages appearing. What else can I do?

First you should stop using the device where your lost video located. And ask the help of some thir-party software. Here I recommend you to have a try on Data Recovery, which enables you to recover lost video with ease. If you are using Windows, photo recovery can also fit your requirement.

SOURCE: recovery error 320 on sony vaio laptop

I was getting the same error codes and the system would not reload from any recovery disks. I discovered a RAM chip was faulty and when I removed the faulty chip I was able to reload the OS onto the system without a problem.

I CANT LOAD MY VISTA DISK im trying to re install vista home but my computer keeps looping

Hi,

If you have not changed the preinstalled OS in the computer, the recovery partition in the computer will be still intact. In that case, you can use the recovery partition to perform a system recovery. Please restart the computer and press and hold the F10 key. This will launch the recovery partition and from there, you can select "Restore C Drive" to perform a system recovery.

As you have mentioned that you are trying to perform a system recovery using the discs(which i understand is recovery discs for the computer), I suggest that you check if the Boot sequence is set to CD/DVD Drive in the BIOS and then try again.

Thanks!!!!

Laptop: Sony Vaio Serial Tag: C3LRMD7Q Model: PCG7133L Need information for recovery disks for the foremention laptop. The OS is Windows VISTA Home Premiun.

Hi,

The VAIO Model VGN-NR498E/S is shipped with Recovery partition in the hard drive. It is required to create the recovery discs as soon as you get the notebook. Using either recovery discs or the recovery center you can reinstall the preinstalled OS in the computer. But, it depends if you has changed the preinstalled OS, the recovery partition will be erased and no longer be accessible.

However, in your case, if you not made any changes to the preinstalled OS, restart the computer and press and hold the F10 key. this will launch the recovery tools. On the next screen, press Enter key. Then you will be able to view options such as "Restore C Drive", "System Restore" etc. There select "Restore C Drive" to reinstall the preinstalled Vista OS in the Computer.

If you have changed the preinstalled OS in the computer, then it is requires to purchase the recovery discs from Sony's parts center:

https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/productSearch.do?searchOperation=partSearch&searchText=Y8318272A&sessionId=pfBoWO6gh7vj_fseXl4oiMI

The above part is no longer available with them However, you can use the part #Y8318272A to search for the recovery discs with online retailers and others.

Thanks!!!!

Hi what is the buttom i press while i turn on my laptop to recover vista vgn cr490 i try but didnt work

Try with F10 key at start up.

Restart the System, tapping the F10 key immediately. This should trigger the System to boot directly to the Recovery Partition, and initiate the VAIO Recovery Center, without requiring the Windows Operating System to load.

In the VAIO Recover Center, select the option 'Restore C: Drive' and follow the onscreen instructions to perform a C: Drive Recovery.

Performing a C: Drive Recovery will erase all the data present in the C: Drive and will reinstall the preinstalled Operating System, Applications and the original Drivers.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!

I need VAIO® VGN-FJ170/B Restore Disks

You can create your own disc from the Vaio recovery center.

If the computer is no longer booting up and the Vaio Recovery center is no longer accessible, you can call sony parts center to check if you can buy a recovery disc for your unit

How I can get recovery disc for my laptop Sony Vaio VGN-SR 26GL?

You probably need a recovery disk because you dont have the necessary drivers and the software that came pre-installed on your laptop. but instead of worrying about that, why not just get any operating system disk of your choice, install it, download the drivers for your laptop online and install them too, and interestingly you can also keep all the drivers you downloaded with the OS Disk incase of future necessity for your laptop repairs.
In case your decide to do this, the link to download the drivers for your laptop is :

Happy Installation!...lol

Can't restore factory intallations and settings: Vaio VGN-FE880E

Are you doing DESTRUCTIVE recoveries or are you doing NONDESTRUCTIVE recoveries? Try another hard drive in the machine and recover to that. Nondestructive recoveries replace the operating system without destroying the personal data. Its possible the original problem is propagating over to the recovered systems. Do a destructive recovery. Understand any data not backed up will be destroyed. Possible the original problem was a trojan virus.
