Try reducing the amount of ink coverage. For instance, instead of using Rich Black (60/60/60/100) try using True Black (0/0/0/100).

Have you changed print materials lately? The amount of ink coverage could be causing the edges of your material to roll up and prevent the the ink from being sprayed properly.

I suspect this will be a tricky one! I am printing from a new iMac / CS5 setup. I am using OCP inks and Ilford paper. I am printing the same images to both machines. The print settings are identical....

hi Anthony, i spent a month trying to figure out a similar problem with an epson 2200. Now, the printers are different but not that much, and, the changes in paper and ink gave me "some" color issues but not as bad as what i was getting. your problem seems very similar. i run a PC so this is similar but not exactly the same. what i found was that a Magenta/ violet cast was due to double profiling. I could verify that i had the correct settings but i was wrong! I print from CS3 into the epson 2200. What i found was there is an error(no one is talking about) in the printer driver. You cannot shut off the color management completely! Assume this scenario, you are printing with CS3 applying your profile in CS3. Make the settings in CS3 as normal, then you are directed to the printer settings. Go to the print driver and make the selections for ICM Color, and select "no color". The KEY is to make sure you do this step LAST , make sure to click on the "apply" button, then "Close". Once you make the selection of "No Color" do NOT click on anything else. If you change screens in the print driver once you select "no color mgmt" the driver CHANGES your settings. ANY settings in the other pages in the print driver cause the driver to apply a printer profile, this effectively "double profiles" your photo print causing the magenta cast. None of this should happen if the driver was created correctly but there it is! It took a long time to test and verify but it is as i stated. Once i got it sorted out my photos are excellent ALL the time. Good luck, worm1855.

When printing to an Epson R1800 have a problem

Make sure the paper size is not set to US letter sheetfeeder borderless use just US letter. the borderless function slightly enlarges document content to ensure that it bleeds overthe edge. If your has a bleed, use in page setup - US letter sheetfeeder borderless - In the print dialog box click printer button which brings up a warning about using a different settings dialog box, - continue on to the r1800 print dialog box. about midway down is a pull down menu - choose expansion and adjust it to the lowest setting. if your printout does not bleed to the edge bump the expansion adjustment up 1 measure.

Epson cx4800 1/2 inch good scan, rest is multicolor tweed

the only thing that comes to mind is maybe the cable is partially crimped and as the scanner moves the wires dont touch. otherwise, its possible there is an issue with a main board.
