SOURCE: I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher
The white film that you are talking about could be two things. First is the quality of your water, having sediments either through the water system or from the water heater because the water that goes into the dishwasher is taken from the hot water supply. Second is the build up of soap residue and even with a rinse product it is not able to remove it. A simple remedy is to due a wash and rinse cycle without dishes and put vinegar in the dishwasher about a cup full (8 oz) and see if that will help. If not I would check the water and going in and out of your water heater. Good Luck
Testimonial: "I will try the vinegar."
