You have to open up the remote. The underside of each button has a black disk. Clean each button with a pencil eraser. Then look at the circuit board. Where each of the black discs would make contact (looks like two "E"s facing each other) clean each of those with the eraser. But the remote back together and all the buttons will be responsive.
It is possible that your computer is simply overheating causing it to slow down. There are a few ways to check this. Enter the BIOS and go to the hardware monitor, what temperatures does the computer read both for the CPU and the Motherboard? Another option is to install and run a program called HWmonitor that can be found here. Report back when you can.
the problem is due to the crystal which sets the speed of the processor and it may be dry due to heat if that crystal is replaced or dry soldered the problem can be solved
