Hi. I had a question about my Kenmore 70 Series. I changed out the dog ears and the agitator. Now, everything works fine but when the spin cycle comes around, the basket moves really fast from side to side and jerks around a lot. It makes loud noises as if it were stomping on the ground. Do you have any idea what it could be?? Thanks for your help.

if everything works but it wont spin, you need to replace your agitator dogs. they are in the top of the agitator. one bolt under the agitator cap. the dogs come in a 4 pack and cost about 3 bucks.
the agitator dogs are found under the top half of the agitator. take out the agiator and you will see 4 cream colored pieces of nylon, these are the dogs and they wear down and the agitator will not move. you do not need any kind of tool to change them.
It sounds like the agitator dogs are worn. To remove the
agitator, pry off the agitator cap and remove the bolt that holds down the
agitator. With the bolt out pull up on the top section of the
agitator (auger) to remove it. Underneath the auger you should see 4 small white or beige plastic
gears (dogs). . Replace those and it should be ok.
The part number is 80040
Let me know if you need more assistance. Good luck!
NO,your transmission is probably ok!! Inside your top end of agitator are these 4 plastic parts called "dogs" they need to be replaced. To be 100% sure ,do this first,Fill upthe machine on small load and while its washing look to see if the bottom end of agitator is moving back and forth ,if it is replace the dogs.In some machines you have to change the upper part of agitator. If the agitator is not turning at the bottom than, remove the top of agitator cover so you can get a extended half inch socket in to it and pull the agitator up and check the transmission splines. If they are smooth and cannot grab the agitator than your trans, is bad.
