Unit was working fine....turned it off and now when I turn it on,....just get the P1 error message. There is no water anywhere in the unit..no buttons seem to be working. Cleaned the filter...now what? Would greatly appreciate some help.

  • Anonymous Jul 07, 2008

Usually, when I turn it on, it says "P2" and blows air. Now it says "P1" and does not.

The directions have the steps to take when a "P1" error is flashing.

1) Remove the plug (the upper black plug not the lower) and attach the included drain hose.
2) Put a bucket under the hose.
3) Press the TURBO button for MORE THAN THREE SECONDS. The WATER INDICATOR will begin flashing telling the user that the FORCED WATER DRAINAGE feature is activated. You will even hear a little whirring noise.
4) Wait until the WATER INDICATOR stops flashing and no more water is flowing out of the drainage tube.
5) After the water is finished flowing, make sure that you FASTEN the DRAIN PLUG. Of course, failure to do this will flood the area.
6) The unit should now work.

You can also move the unit somewhere that you can remove the plug and let the water flow freely (you do not need to have it plugged in for this method) and once the water is finished, replace the plug and fire it up. It should then work correctly. It's also mentioned that the water should be drained quite often to prevent corrosion. I do it every few months and of course when winter approaches.

I like this air conditioner and have had really nice luck with it. A little loud but who cares. That's why there are SUBTITLES on the television.

Hope this helped.

Just tried it. I was thinking you had to hold down two buttons. Just turbo.

Press and hold the turbo button as you restore the power. It will start making noises as it runs through some tests. It will probably then give you a more specific error message. In many cases it is an excess of water in the drain pan.

  • Don Berry Jun 30, 2008

I believe that this may be the error to warn you that the drain pan is full of water. Try dumping the pan.

I tried emptying the unit of water. The water can be drained through the tube in the back. Take the stopper out of the tube, then drain it into a bucket. I did that, then turned it back on and pressed turbo for a few seconds. Eventually, the "water indicator" light started blinking. I then had to drain it again, and about another gallon of water came out. After that, the unit started blowing cold air again.

Not sure, but after I drain the unit, remove the black plug located at the bottom on the back of the unit, the P1 & P2 error code is gone.....now unit is working fine.......

Press and hold the turbo button while plugging in the unit. The AC will cycle through a few tests and mine showed that it had excess water. I have long vinyl tubing so the unit could drain outside the window but it thought whenever it would start or stop there was excess water (thus stopping the flow). I drained the excess water out of the line and voila

Everstar portable AC not cooling, what do I do?

Same thing happened a few weeks ago. My wife said " its not cooling". I read the manual and it says., Clean filters ...we did and hello. works fine. She was so frustrated she was going to take it back. These filters accummulate dust fast. So check there first. Hope this helps.

I would lkike to know where to get replacement filters or an extension exhaust duct.

The unit shuts off whenever the water tank fills up. It's on the right bottom side, just pull it out and drain the water, when you put it back in the a/c will turn on again.

Need owners manual for Everstar Portable AC MPM1-10CR-BB6

Needed the manual to clarify a P1 error message. Figured how to fix the error P1 on my own. there are two drains on the unit, one is always open as an overflow drip, the other at bottom of unit has a plug. I opened the plug at the bottom of the unit, drained the water, and the P1 error code cleared.

Everstar portable ac unit displaying error message P1. The unit turned itself off and will not come back on. It had no symptoms of not working well before turning off.

According to my Everstar manual, P-1 is a drainage problem.
EverStar owners manual pg. 16 -

1. Release the drain hose from the ruber clip and pull out the rubber plug, let the drain hose slant down to a water container.

2. Press the TURBO button on the unit control panel for more than 3 seconds and the WATER INDICATOR light begins flashing. It indicates the forced water drainage feature is activated.

3. Waiting until the WATER INDICATOR light stops flashing and there is no water flow.

4. After the water has drained, remember to secure the drain hose and plug in the upright position and clip it to the unit.

The unit will return to normal operation.

....I had to do this and it worked - Good luck!
