Think cheap.first change the mic to see if that makes a difference. If it does you now have a new mic and a radio that works. Now it gets a little more expensive. you have to open the radio so the components show . Now ask yourself which one does what ? I know you can't answer it because if you could you wouldn't have posted this. I can tell you that its in your audio circuit . Now take it to a tech and have them fix it.

My shure ksm44a mic will work only when the ac is on

The KSM44A does not care about the humidity. However, it does require phantom power from the mixer. Take it to a friend to see if it works fine into their sound system.

Acer TravelMate 5620 inbuilt microphone permenantly on.

It sounds like your AC Adapter Power Cord might be causing the problem. Try unplugging the power cord and running off the battery and see if you still hear the the noises. If not, buy a new power cord. The guys at: http://www.generalsystemsconsulting.com sells power cords for $35.00 and they will drop ship it to you. Their cords meet Manufacturers Original Equipment (OEM) specifications. They don't sell the one size fits all that the big box stores sell that could damage your motherboard.

I'm really at my wits end with my Rode NT1 A microphone. I bought one of these microphones from Musicians Friends and when I got it it was Dead On Arrival. no sound at all...yea I plugged it into a phantom...

If you are satisfied with Shure products I would recommend that you check out their condenser microphones. All condensers are more fragile than other microphones. Get someone to look at your Rode first in case it is not trashed and can be fixed as they are good mikes. AKG is another brand I would recommend.

Sound Problem

What are you running this mic into ?, an interface mic pre ?, a soundcard ? A console/ mixer ?
Since this is a tube mic it should have its own power source and I am assuming you plug that in when using it ? Don't use phantom power on this mic, even though it's a condenser mic, since it's a tube mic wich have their own power supply you don't need phantom power on them and in fact it may damage its power supply.

Labtec Verse 524 Consumer Microphone

Almost all desktop microphones for the computer are not amplified (which means that they do not have their own power source). Instead the computer's sound card provides the amplification for the microphone. All you need to do is plug it in, and you're all set.
