Thread under the fabric is usually caused by improper top threading. Try this test, with presser foot up, pull on thread, it should feed smoothly. Now, put the presser foot down, it should barely move when pulled. Also, try a new needle.

I have a Juki HZL-F Series and the thread keeps getting cought on the bobbin case when I sew and it makes a loud clanking noise i've replaced the needle and cleaned my machine also.

If the thread keeps getting caught on the bobbin case and making a loud clanking noise, it's possible that the bobbin case is not properly installed or is damaged. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
  1. Check that the bobbin case is properly installed in the machine. The bobbin case should be securely snapped into place, and there should be no wobbling or movement when you gently tug on it.
  2. Inspect the bobbin case for damage. Look for any cracks, chips, or burrs that could be catching the thread. If you find any damage, replace the bobbin case.
  3. Check the tension on the bobbin case. The bobbin tension should be adjusted so that the thread pulls evenly and smoothly from the bobbin. If the tension is too loose, the thread can bunch up and get caught in the case.
  4. Make sure the thread is properly threaded through the machine. Check that the thread is not caught or looped around any of the machine's components.
  5. Try using a different type of thread. Some threads are more prone to breaking or getting caught in the machine than others.
If you've tried these steps and are still having trouble, it may be time to take your machine to a professional for servicing

Bobbin tread bunches and jams machine

If the bobbin is inserted with the thread spinning the wrong direction this will cause "birdnesting" - thread build up under needle plate, you need to cut thread to get the item off machine. flip the bobbin over into the case and try again. Also make sure you remove ALL thread caught up in "Birdsnest" when they happen.

I have a circa 1962 Elna and the thread keeps tangling under the pressure foot by the bobbin. I have rethreaded it twice as per instructions in the owners manual and still is happening, any suggestions?

if you are getting loops on the underside of the fabric or jamming around the bobbin, then your top thread is not under tension or going through the thread take up lever, that little arm that moves up and down. Recheck your threading path making sure you always raise the presser foot to open up the tension discs so that the thread lies into the tension discs fully. Also check that you have the bobbin threaded up correctly into the bobbin case, with the thread caught into the tension spring (you will hear a little click as it goes in). The bobbin will turn anticlockwise as you draw thread out of it. Use the top thread to raise the bottom thread up, replace the needle plate and bobbin case cover in place, then take both threads to the back of the sewing area. Hold them firmly as you start sewing! very important that you don't allow the thread tails to be caught and dragged into the bobbin as they will jam around the rotary hook.

Toyota 9400 Sewing Machine top thread caught between bobbin casing and spring causing jam

it would be a very good idea to have the machine serviced since
someone gave the machine to you, and having the bobbin
case replaced would be a good idea and having the spring
checked would be good too.

My machine keeps jamming, what happens is that the top thread gets caught in the hook how do i solve this

Be sure there are no thread tails hanging from the bobbin when it's inserted into the bobbin case. They can jam the machine and cause the upper thread to break. And note that there's no such thing as a generic bobbin. Always use a bobbin designed for your machine in order to avoid skipped stitches, loose threads, and noise, as well as permanent damage to the bobbin case.
Clean your bobbin case and open the race (what you insert the bobbin into) to clean that out as well as the feed dogs. Excess lint can cause a lot of trouble when you're sewing so cleaning and oiling often can save you frustration and damage. Also use a quality thread that will not add to the lint build up.
Your race might also have a small burr that needs to be gently rubbed off. Do not use sandpaper as that will cause more burrs to form.
Hope this helped.

Thread jams in bobbin case

Open the bobbin area and make sure it is clean.

Change to a new needle.

Thread the machine with the presser foot up.

Make sure the bobbin thread is feeding in the correct direction from the bobbin spool and through the guide on the bobbin case.

Take hold of the end of the top thread and lower, then raise the needle to pull the bobbin thread up.

Take hold of both thead ends and pull them under the presser foot and to the back of the machine.

Place fabric under the presser foot. Lower and hand walk the first couple of stitches.

When sewing, and you need to stop to adjust the fabric, make sure the needle is down into the fabric. This will keep the stitch from malformation and causing a possible tangle.

Thread is knotting up under the feed dog plate getting error LO.I tried removing the plateand cleaning and replaced bobbinholder and it is still jamming. is there supposed to be any play in the bobin...

It should move a little so the thread has clearence. If the thread is bunching underneath, it usually means the thread's not in the take-up lever or top tension is too loose. If you're needle has hit the bobbin case and created needle marks, the thread can get caught... in which you'd need to replaced the bobbin case.

I am having trouble with my bobbin . When I put into the sewing machine and begin to sew the cotton just bunches up and jams . Any suggestions

Hello,
Here are a couple of things to try.

* Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your
bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and re-thread your bobbin.

* Change your bobbin
There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you
sew.

* When you start to sew a seam, grasp the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back
and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting
caught in your machine.

Hope this helps.
