Can I connect my camera to my PC with a USB cable and record sound from sites such as you tube while I film the screen to get both the audio and visual of a film clip. Right now i can do that by using the built in microphone in my camera and recording the sound thru the air, but the audio would be better if it recorded direct. If so, what settings do I need to make in my camera and PC?

This is a very roundabout way of recording from YouTube. There are many free utilities to capture YouTube or other website videos directly in your computer, without using a camera and getting the degradation involved. If you want the clip on your camera, you can just copy it there over the USB connection afterwards (you might need to convert the format).

The video capture software I use will automatically sense video playing in my browser and capture it. It is called Sothink Web Video Downloader, and I got it from www.download.com (free download).

We are trying to connect our Sony PS-LX300USB turntable to our Denon amplifier, using the supplied USB cable. When we play the record, no sound is coming through the amplifier speakers?

If you want to use the USB cable it should be connected to a computer not a audio receiver. If you want to connect to a Denon amplifier then you should use the left and right audio cables. Check if it has phono level out or line level out. If it's phono level out, it needs to either go through a phono preamp or plug into the phono input on the back of your receiver. If it's line level out, you can plug it into any of the other inputs and it will work.
The USB cable is mainly for recording your records to digital. But if you want to run the audio through the USB cable and listen to it in real time then here's a link that shows you how to do it. It's a different brand turntable but the process is the same.

Having gone over a month with no response, I assume this is no longer a problem.

Can this camera become a webcam and how

Yes, but only with the yellow (video) and white (mono audio) rca plug cable (to mini USB) that came with the camera. This plugs the camera into a composite input (yellow) found on older video cards, VHS recorders, DVD players and TVs. There is no software switch to tell the Lumix what to do when it's connected to a PC by the USB cable; it just assumes you want to transfer files. Unlike USB audio recorders (Zoom H4) which give you the choice at plug-in, audio interface or disk drive?

After making film, can't open the file *ppp again

Did I understand properly if I say : After 2 weeks yu cannot find your film in your camera and the Power Producer says that some files properly does not exist ??
If yes then :

1. :check that you not have renamed the files (ex. record 1015 to my child 1). some cameras cannot understand that you rename the files inside the camera, you need to copy them out and then rename them. If you have done that then you can use explere to search inside your cameras hard disc and find the renamed film files.

2. :Another thing could bee that you have too many USB connected to the computer ( the computer can only have a x nummer of USB connected to the pc at the same time), try to disconnect some of the other USB connected.

3.: The USB place (port) you use for the camera is not working properly, try to use anither USB connection

4. The film files are corrupted( there can bee different reason for that ex you just disconnect the vire connected to the pc and camera without first disable the USB connection) OR the camera do record over the the old film when there is no more space or after a certain time.
For this thin you can try to recover the file with Recuva, here is the link :
http://www.recuva.com/

5. The battery in your camera is nearly empty, for this recharce/ by new ones (it depend if you use Rechargeable batteries)

Hope that helps, if not return here

Record the film from dcrtrv460 ntsc to the PC

You will need a firewire cable to transfer videos from a camcorder to PC. If it has USB interface you can also use a USB cable to transfer. Let me know the brand of your camcorder so that we can proceed further..

Connecting analong camcorder to computer

The only Analog camcorder that has a USB Connection for transferring pictures or video is the SC-L770. The SC-L770 can transfer video (live or recorded) and still photos through the USB connection. You can also transfer audio using the audio cable provided. After installing the driver and software, you can begin transferring data using the software provided. Connecting to a PC 1. Connect a USB cable to the USB port on the PC. 2. Connect the other end of the USB cable into the proper terminal on the camcorder. (USB jack) 3. Connect the audio cable to the Line input jack of the PC. If the PC has no Line input jack, connect the audio cable to the MIC input jack. In this case, however, a noise may be produced depending on the PC. Notes: * If you disconnect the USB cable from the PC or the camcorder while transferring, the data transmission will stop and the data may be damaged. * If you connect the USB cable to a PC via a USB HUB or simultaneously connect the USB cable along with other USB devices, the camcorder may not work properly. * In this case, remove the other USB devices from the PC and reconnect the camcorder. Some other Analog Camcorders have a snapshot mode which allows you to take a still photo with your camcorder. However, you cannot transfer these to a computer unless you purchase additional hardware such as a capture card. Some capture cards have analog a/v inputs which will allow you to use the a/v outputs on the camcorder to connect to your pc and transfer images and video. You can purchase a capture card at most computer and electronics stores. Samsung does not support capture cards.
