My new sony xbr 55hx929 on occasion shuts itself off and comes back on within a second or two. shuts off to the point when it comes back on the sony logo on screen is displayed and in the upper left hand corner the input (hdmi 1) is shown follow by the program on tv.

7 blinks on the model above is an error code for faulty horizontal deflection circuitry. The B+ gone to excessive current that is detected by IC5007.

That problem can only be fixed by either sending to Sony repair for $150.00 of finding someone on the web who does it for less.

It's a connection problem with one of the processors

Hi, Lamp of TV getting weaker and requires replacement. This shut off by itself will increase day by day until you put new lamp in TV. Always Buy Sony original lamp and avoid aftermarket/ cheap lamp for TV safety.
