I have a kenmore 11088752792 stacked wash/dryer. The dryer makes huge clunking sounds when I run it. I took off back and side panel to find the drum somewhat pulled away from the interior back wall of dryer. It still runs, spins, and belt is not broken. The black fibrous rubber seal appears broken- is this worth fixing or should I just buy a new one?

I have a stacked Frigidaire FEZ831CA washer/dryer combo and when running the dryer it makes a very high pitched (AND LOUD) screeching sound. Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks, Sean

screeching sound
Sean, Bad felt gasket body to drum, if belt drive on dryer, it could be worn and slipping, making a screech, or if not the belt, the drum may have a worn bearing on its hub allowing it to run crooked and rub where it should not.

My dryer won't heat up. where is fuse box for kenmore stackable 41794813301

11_3_2011_1_25_58_am.jpg
Behind this drum on the upper left hand corner is the fuse

11_3_2011_1_26_40_am.jpg
If it was tripped however the dryer would not operate as it is tied into the door switch.

11_3_2011_1_28_21_am.jpg

You can get a restring kit for less than 20 bucks for these

11_3_2011_1_29_20_am.jpg
Get top off then the controls off there then remove the front like this:

11_3_2011_1_30_13_am.jpg
The heater is on the back side of the drum so it has to come on out
I did a repair on a similar dryer last year and took some photos

Whirlpool model 110.88752792 dryer runs but does not heat

Concerning the Kenmore 11088752792 model where the dryer spins but does not heat. I had that problem a few years ago with the same model.

I replaced the fuse (part No. 3399849 about $10.00) and the thermostat (part no 3398128 about $25.00). Dryer worked fine the first try.

FYI. Today, I'm searching for what makes the dryer squeak when I came across your issue (though 6 months since you posted, but I figure there are other Kenmore stack-able owners out there searching for a fix). I haven't taken the dryer apart yet but have ordered the dryer belt, rollers, pulley (a package deal with RepairClinic) and the felt bearing/seal. May as well do a full replacement of the likely components that are causing the squeaks and not spend any more time going through trial and error repairs.

If you haven't already, the dogs on your agitator are probably due for replacement as well. RepairClinic has an agitator package deal with replacement dogs and seals.

My stacked kenmore dryer is making a banging noise when its drying it just happened out of nowhere i know nothing about dryers can anyone help me out?

Sounds like your drum roller(s) is bad. Unplug you machine and remove the panel to gain access to your drum. You will see rollers that ride on your drum. One or more of them are bad, either broken or have a flat spot worn on them.

Whirlpool LER5620KQ1 - Dryer makes a clunking sound when running

It may be that one of the plastic pieces inside the trum has somthing under it. Coins of other things can get under them. You will have to tilt the top back so you can get to them. Unscrew 3 screws in each of them remove them and check them . Watch how you took it out so they can be put back just like they came out.
Take a putty knife and run it between the top and the front panel not far from the corner and push the two clips back one on each side. Raize the top up and brace it. Unhook the door switch take the two 5/16 screws out of the top of the front panel and pull the front panel toward you and lift it off the clips at the bottom. Put something under the front of the drum to hold it up while you take off the belt. On the right side reach under the drum and push the idler pully to the right and take the belt off the motor pully. Now you can take the drum and belt out. You could start the motor with the belt off and see if the motor is making the noise. Don't run too long. Now you can check the idler pully, the rollers the drum rides on in the back the felt on the front panel and the back of the drum. Also check the belt Be sure and mark how everything came off and put back just like it came off. Hope this helps

DRYER PROBLEM

When the pads on the front wear, it will make noise when running. They can be replaced. There is one on the top and one on the bottom rim where the drum turns. You remove the front to access them by removing the screws on the top. Post your model number for diagrams. It's usually stamped on a small tag in a visible location on your appliance.

Washer-Dryer- behind or on top of the control panel. Behind the door. On the lower front or side of the cabinet.

Agitator very noisy while washing

There is a small roller that tightens the drive belt for the drum inside this unit. If it is loose it makes a squeaking noise. Tightening this may solve your problem. You will have to take off the back panel to do this repair
