You do not have to actually disable the touch pad on this laptop to use an "external" mouse. Just plug in your mouse and it will install the drivers if needed and viola, your good to go. If you insist on disabling your touch pad however, you can do that by double tapping the top left hand corner, when you do this correctly, a little orange light will show and the screen will show a notification the the touch pad is disabled. To enable the pad back on, just repeat the same step you used to disable, and the on screen notification will indicate the touch pad is enabled!

Hi, Have you checked that the touch pad is enabled, as Aceruses something like the FN F7 keys to enable disable the touch pad. If still facing the same issue means you need to download the touch pad driver from the Acer website and you can fix the issue. http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html Select the product and download the Driver. Please let me know whether this works or not.

select the device
click to Enable or Disable

You may need to enable in the bios/setup menu - as the PC boots - you should get a message on how to get into the bios/setup - usually using F2 or DEL Key or F10
see if touch pad needs to be enabled there
OR
one of the F keys may disable/enable - depends on the model of the Laptop - toshiba sometime use FN+F9 key
FN + F9 should enable / disable the touchpad
goto control panel - mouse - and see if you can change disable/enable touch pad from there

Hi thre can you please check the touch pad mode? May be its disable some how. Or try to press FN+ F7 key for enable / disable touch pad. What is happend please let me know. Thanks.
ok so if your touch pad isn't working you need to get in to your control panel there look for device manger then look for the disable touch pad and enable it hope this helps
tip plug in a external mouse so you can get to the control panel
