mostly it seems like a software problem. Did you try restarting it by pressing VOLUME DOWN + POWER button?? if it's not working , then take it to a service center and re-flash the software once.
Exact same thing happened to me last night. The TV only received High Def chanles. When switched to reg. chanels, there are green vertical lines. Light is definitely on and visible in the back. Now goes out after abut 30 sec. Misery loves company. Will watch the site for a solution. 4yrs. old just went off extended warranty 45 days ago. damn
Back again. It appears that the key is the order in which you connect things and switch the TV on or off. It took some experimenting to get to what's reliable. I'll spare you the details and confine myself to what works. 1. Start with the monitor cable disconnected at the laptop. 2. Turn on the TV with the source set to your regular satellite (or cable) signal. 3. With the laptop on, plug the monitor cable into it. 4. Switch the source (at the TV) to receive the VGA signal (from the laptop). Voila! To turn off, reverse the procedure.
You really need a tech to check the error codes recorded in the TV to be sure. You could have a bad lamp driver, but I would want to see if any error codes were recorded
The SONY Owner's Manual for the KDS55A2000 does not state what the 4 times blinking Power LED means.
However, my Sony Extended Care Service support insists that the projection lamp is the cause for the 4X blinking LED Power light.
I do not agree but am forced to buy a replacement lamp (not cheap) to prove that the problem is probably the fan, as the TV Technician states elsewhere in these FixYa support questions and answer
