Power On Displays Flashing "Protected"

I have a Sony STR-DE535 amplifier and sound system. Whenever it is powered on, in the display window is the legend "Protected." I turned all the speakers off position and when I powered on again, had still the same problem. The same "Protected" alert displays whatever program I request from the amplifier, be it radio stations or TV or whatever, and the system does not function. No sound at all, not even static. I checked the troubleshooting guide in the back of the Users Manual; no help. Any help in finding a solution to this "Protected" problem will be sincerely appreciated.

Please help I had a sony str km3000. no power please help need aservice manual

You unit has a condition known as DC Offset, which displays as protect. This offset condition is presented to the microprocessor IC(a computer within your Sony). This IC will not let you turn the unit back on until the problem is corrected. If you are interested in repairing your Sony, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

Hi, whenever i am trying to power ON my hifi...i'm getting a message error on the display screen ''PUSH POWER PROTECT'...flashing continuously. please can anyone advise what should I...

This indicates that you have a blown output amplifier or shorted speaker wire. Disconnect all the speaker wires and try to turn it on once more. If it shows the same display give it to a service

What fuses does the sony str-de535 need

I beleive it is a 6.3amp gma. It will be printed on the circuit board next to the fuse holder and on the fuse itself. If it is open(blown) you probably will need to replace a set of the output transisters (mp1620 and mn2488). DO NOT use a slow-blow fuse this will cause more damage to your receiver.
