The laptop suddenly stopped working. It is plugged in, but the power light on the front panel just blinks. The computer does not boot or start. And yes, I pushed the start button. No other lights on the front panel are lit. Is this a power supply problem

Was the laptop on when it turned off? It may be a PSU problem but we can determine this by removing the battery. Make sure you disconnect the AC adapter while your removing the battery. Inspect the contacts and make sure`there are no black marks or any other dirt. Leave the battery out and plug in your AC adapter. Try the power again.
There are a couple of possibilities in terms of problems that I can suspect so far. Did anything out of the ordinary happen when the computer just stopped working all of the sudden.
1. Battery has failed and short circuited the contacts 2. Power supply failure 3. Motherboard could have failed in style. 4. Power contacts for the AC adapter are damaged.

I have a cracked screen (toshiba tecra m2) and have an opportunity to buy a replacement screen from a tecra m2 S630 that is broken. Are the screens interchangeable?

Can't answer your screen question, but I can propose a workaround - your Toshiba laptop has a
monitor port on the back - you can plug in a standard monitor, and ignore the cracked screen
temporarily until you can replace it. hope this helps

The monitor port is the 15-pin analog VGA D-shell (female) port.

Please help! I have recently accquired a Toshiba Tecra M2 laptop 2nd hand. Ive had it for at least a week and now all of a sudden it will not boot up. Instead i can only see a cursor in the top left hand...

From your description it is the hard drive that is the problem and will most likely need replacing, you will need to take it to a computer technician for an estimate before you commit.

Computer wont turn on

Voltage problem. Try removing all power connections (including battery) for 10-15 minutes +. Then plug in and see if it turns on. If not, you may have to take it somewhere to get internal components checked.
